I have some movies which need the xvid-codec to play them, I downloaded it, but when I try to play the movie there is no sound. Is their a way so I can play the movie with the DIVX-codec or is there another way to solve this.
    Thanks, maarten.

There's guides for converting to DIVX I'm sure but as for another way to fix this problem, do you know what format the sound is in? It may be just getting a codec for the sound which you may have to do anyways to convert the file.

You will need audio codecs, www.digital-digest.com to get some. Namely, mp3 and wma codecs.

Most Xvid files contain AC3 audio so you'll need the AC3 codec.
To check grab either gspot or avicodec to identify the audio.
From past experience with Xvid downloads found most with AC3 audio.

you can do a google search for ac3 codec and come out with the files, it's about 4 of them. 2 are the filters and the other two are the programs which "install" them into your system depending on what os you have

The fault is caused by the nimo codec's, uninstall them.

You may loose audio just put in another audio codec and this should solve your problem.

it could be an incomplete download, what you can do is use gspot to make sure you have the codecs needed and then use avipreview to view it. you can get both here.

    Gidday guys

    I have a boggle!
I can play div-x and xvid fine on my PC, no problem, but when I go to encode xvid to DVD using nero express it spurts up an error about VOB creation error, etc. I do the same thing with div-x and it works fine.
How do you convert xvid to divx.
    Much appreciated :)

install 'SLD' codec pack it has most audio codecs including ac3

The Nimo codecpack is idd the best pack for audio, it`ll help for most errors...

I got the same problem as -RICKY2003-
I downloaded the Bourne Identity, but the colors are all f-ed up, like too green, it`s like seeing spots it`s an Xvid-RSP file. Are there any codecs that might help or is the file just f-ed up?
