PC games sound going out during gameplay

    WHats up with this. when i'm playing manhunt or any other game, like 25 minutes into the game.... my sound'll go mute... any suggestions?

    but i'd first check this:

    is your pc overheating? is the sound card/onboard sound been acting up lately besides gaming?

    does it totally cut the sound out or make it garbled?

    do you have the latest drivers for your soundcard?

    hope that gives you a start..

    well no.. shouldnt be overheating...... no no sound mess-ups, the sound totally goes. and i do have the latests drivers for my soundccard.

    Maybe try to reinstall the game? or does this happen on all of your games?

    all of them... but i've resolved this conflict simply but using my realtek audio card set for audio playback that came with my PC, instead of my PRO studio one that i purchased.
