What are anyone's thoughts of the current ASUS CD-RW offerings on the market compared to units from Yamaha or Plextor?

Asus drives (CDRW) are EXCELLENT for copying cd protected games. The Asus 40/48/52x can beat Safedisc 2.8.1(The Sims Unleashed)& SecuROM 4.8.x (Unreal Tournament 2003)! As far as audio cd protection, These Asus drives can beat Cactus Data Shield 200.

    For all audio: Yamaha F1
    For pccd proction: Asus

Plextor drives are great for audio especially when using Plex Tools, but the Yamaha F1 can BEAT all audio cd protection as far as I know.

I have owned Asus and Plextor. Both are good (although I prefer Plextor).

My beef with Asus is the very crappy service,if something goes wrong. In my case I was down for way to long (if I had waited for them - I went and bought Plextor). I hated their attitude.

I also bought a TDK (do not know who makes it) but for the $$$ it can't be beat.
