Hello all, I have been using the Shrink/Decrypter combo succesfully for over a month. But all of a sudden, Decrypter is giving an error during the burning process and the coasters are starting to pile up. Me being as un-knowledgeable as it comes to the process, I always have the guides open and follow step-by-step for each burn. Here is a copy of the log: I 16:19:07 DVD Decrypter Version 3.5.4.0 started! I 16:19:07 Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition (5.1, Build 2600) I 16:19:07 Initialising SPTI... Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated.
CRC errors usually are a result of dirty/smudged/damaged/defective original discs. Try to clean it off, if that doesn't work maybe get another copy of the original.
I'm having the same problem with DVD decrypter! I have tried many different DVDs and they all give lots of errors when they are decrypting. I was using an older version a while ago and it worked fine. But, unfortunately, that computer died and I lost the program. Any suggestions? Can I get the older version or fix the problem on this one? What other decrypters are out there that work well? Thanks a bunch for any help.
The newest version should work just as good as the older version, better actually. 3.5.4 will get rid of all those nasty new encryptions that are coming out. You could try AnyDVD, it works a little different from Decrypter and has a 21-day free trial. One of the best programs available in my opinion, but Decrypter is a very powerful ripper. Check out ScubaPete's link in my sig and look for where it tells you how to tweak Decrypter settings. That might help you. You're not talking about pack header errors are you? If so, just ignore them. Same with bad sector errors.
Thanks for the help. I was getting those kinds of errors, but it still wouldn't let me burn the dvd when it came to actually writing the disc. I got a new DVD burner, Mad Dog, kind of cheap, so maybe the DVD burner is the problem. It's still not working so if any of you have any further suggestions I'd be grateful. Thanks
Try [bold]Isobuster[/bold] I've been stuck with a Friends DVD I wanted to make a back up of and DVD Decrypter was unable to until I switched to Isobuster. Isobuster is freeware and much faster and DVD Decrypter. And let me tell you it has worked on every either lightly or badly scratched disc I have. You can d/l it from here htttp://www.isobuster.com
