When i open an AVI file with virutaldub i get the following message. "VirtualDub has detected an improper VBR audio encoding in the source AVI file and will rewrite the audio header with standard CBR values during processing for better compatibility. This may introduce up to 43680 ms of skew from the video stream. If this is unacceptable decompress the *entire* audio stream to an ucompressed WAV file and recompress with a constant bitrate encoder (bitrate: 151,5 ± 32.3 kbps) Could anyone help me please. I want to turn this AVI file in to an VCD. But so far i had no luck with it. I tried to encode it to a VCD with TMPGENC and it turn up with no audio Thanx in advance.
I'm not sure what audio code is in your avi but I have gotten similiar messages with AC3 sound in my AVI's using Virtualfub. I use VirtualDubMod for these files as it accepts a wider range of audio's.
first you can get a vdub version that supports vbr, such as mp3 freeze, nandub or all of the above - virtual dubmod. now you open the video and re-encode it with the audio compression you want, remember the original sample rate must be converted if the compressed sample rate is different. If you're not sure, wait a few minutes after converting and check the video for any out-of-sync audio. Oh and remember to use full processing not direct stream copy and change the compression mp3 to cbr at your choice bit rate.
