Hi, Ive just bought a new DVD writer drive and am having alot of problems with it. Firstly I kept having 'communication error' when I tried to burn CDs and DVDs. I have replaced the IDE with an 80-wire cable and this has gone away. Now whenever I burn a DVD, it gets right to the end and then comes up with 'Could not perform end of Disc-At-Once', it is working fine reading DVDs and burning normal CDR/RWs. I am using nero express 5.5, and have updated my drive's firmware, I have also defragmented my hard disks. I am running windows XP pro SP1 on a 1GHz P3 with 396mb RAM. Help.
I know this sounds crazy but I had that problem for months and then I asked MadDog Multimedia what to do and they told me that the only media that will work is dvd+R not DVD-R try it ...I did and mine works great.
