receiving static after burn

After I burn a music cd with nero all I get is static noise. The burn goes fine but when I try and play it back on my computer or in the car all I hear is a lot of static.Is there anything that can be done to correct it.

 

What kind of cd-r's are u using? I once used Maxwel Pro disk and i got a bunch of static and decided to us another brand that didn't say pro and no static heard after that.
