How can I join 2 .avi files (of split movie) along with their 2 .srt subtitles into ONE?

I recently downloaded a movie that had been split into 2 AVI files. They came with 2 .srt subtitle files.

I would like to merge the two AVIs together in order to encode the resulting [bold]one[/bold] AVI into an MPEG file. But how do I successfully do this while including the subtitles?

    Thanks in advance.

Well, I've tried one method while waiting (hopefully not in vain) for some help:

I joined the 2 .srt files into one with Subtitle Workshop and then merged the 2 .avi's with VirtualDub. I thought all was well up to that point until I played the finished product. The subtitles weren't synched with the audio. Now, I'm definitely stumped!

Is there anyone out there who has an idea of how to accomplish this task successfully?

Heh. After digging a bit deeper, I found a program that solved my problem. I used Subtitle Studio (version 2.0 R-2) to merge my subtitles by choosing the option to "join (after breakpoint)".

Now it should be smooth sailing from here on with this movie. :)
