I recently had to replace my factory CD-R/W drive (Compaq Presario). I now have a Memorex 48MAXX. My comp. will not recognize it as a recording device. I have tried Easy CD Creator, Nero, Instant CD and Click and Burn Pro. None of them will recognize it. I have even upgraded from Win 98 to XP Pro. That didn't help either. It works fine as a read only drive though. Please help! Thanks.
Did try the version of Nero that came with the drive, or was it another version? Some burners work better if they are the "Master" on the controller that they are attached to. Is it set to master or slave? You said you have tried both Easy CD Creator and Nero. If you have both installed try uninstalling one of them and try burning again. Some versions of Nero and Easy CD Creator conflict with eact other when installed on the same PC.
