    Hi!

For the last few days, I tried to FTP my Xbox without success. Here is a list of my accessories:

    - A softmodded Xbox (UnleashX & Evox)
    - PC (Windows XP Pro) with a Network card
    - 1 Ethernet cable (crossover)
    - FlashFXP & CuteFTP

First of all, I desactivated the firewall on Windows. After, I went to the Control Panel, Network Connections, Local Connection, Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) and went in the properties. I changed the IP to 192.168.0.3 and the subnet mask to 255.255.255.0 Then, I restarted my PC. I open my Xbox (UnleashX) and went in the Network properties. I put a static IP and put as IP 192.168.0.2 and subnet mask 255.255.255.0 Then I closed my Xbox. I connected my PC to my Xbox with my crossover cable and started the Xbox, and both machines (Xbox & PC) detected the cable. After, I open FlashFXP, I do quick connect, put as Server 192.168.0.2, username and password is xbox, on port 21. I also checked off passive mode. When I try to connect, it says "Connection timed out" and it doesn't work. It does the same with Evox.

Here are more details on the configurations on my Xbox.

    Network enabled: Yes
    Type: Static
    IP: 192.168.0.2
    Subnet mask: 255.255.255.0
    Gateway: 0.0.0.0
    DNS1: 0.0.0.0
    DNS2: 0.0.0.0

Please tell me what I have to do to FTP my Xbox!

    Thanks a lot!

    Mike

    plug in your crossove cable
on your xbox set use static ip to yes
on your pc go to control panel.... network settings
right click on local aera connection.... choose properties
there should be an option called internet protocol tcp/ip... double click this... now you need to assign an ip addy to your pc... it should be 3 higher than your box.... eg... xbox ip is 192.168.1.200.... pc ip should be ... 192.168.1.203
now the subnet mask for xbox and pc match
    click ok
on your box set the default gateway to the same ip you just gave your pc... save and exit and reeboot box... now use flash fxp

just set your xbox gateway to the same thing as your pc ip, and you should be good to go.

if that doesnt work then u can try hooking up ur xbox and pc to a router if u have one ande connecting to the assigned ip address. that way it is much easier and u wont have to assign or change anything :p
