No audio on capture

    Not exactly a new topic but I can't find a discussion to suit my situation.

    Problem: no audio on capture from Canon MiniDV, either A/D pass-through or from tape. Tried capturing as AVI and also DV. Sound plays fine on camera.

    Software tried (none works) - Nerovision Express 2, Movie Maker, PowerProducer, DVIO.

    Connection: Firewire, per Canon instructions. Video capture is great - just no sound. Checked Windows volume control: looks OK, but not sure if this does anything.

    Help!

    Problem solved. It is an 'operator error', ie, I mucked up. Too embarassed to say why.

    Forgot to hook up the audio cable?

    Close - but no cigar. I did worse - when I moved my PC to fit a new hard drive I accidentally pulled the sound-out cable out of the Philips speakers built into the monitor base and didn't notice it. Doh!
