is there anyway to disable it....???

i dont like it,it puts me off when i am typing, and looking at the screen at the same time????,when 2 boxes are scrolling

and why do u not get the preview screen when posting a [bold]new[/bold] thread

also, with a suggestion,i have been on other sites, and some forums have the one click option of entering bold text etc, instead of the way this site operates,in which we have to type it in.
its not a problem,it would just make things a little simplier

    with kind regards hursty

Thanks for the feedback. I added the preview functionality to the forums yesterday as "public beta" and I agree with you that some people might find it more than slightly annoying and I'm planning to find a way to switch it on/off when needed.

The most obvious reason for the preview functionality is the fact that it allows people to catch errors when they're adding bold tags, images, etc.

And yes, I'm planning to add automatic way to insert bold/italics/quote tags to the messages. And also, the preview box will look slightly different soon.

As always, you need to remember that virtually all other sites in the world use some out-of-the-box forum software -- for us, I've created the whole damn thing, just because I like coding and its nice to play around with something that is yours rather than sticking to specs that (in my "real job") customers ask you to do :)

Anyway, as always, feedback is much appreciated and I'll consider all the comments seriously when making future plans for the forums.

yes i agree, its nice to be unique, and i must say,i have been on various sites/forums,and this is by far the best, and way above the rest for quality of content and establishment,
afterdawn is usually the first site that pops up on google, always on top/near the top of the list, which says something,as google search works on a hits basis, and thats world-wide

    regards hursty
