I hope someone can help me. I just built a new system. AMD 64 2.6Ghz processor, 1G Ram, 120G RAM......brandnew K8T Neo2 motherboard with K8T800Pro Chipset. GForce2 64MB video card in a PCI slot. Everything was running great until someone told me that I can increase graphic frame rates by lowering the value on the PCI Latency Timer in the bios. Well, I lowered the setting and saved and exited the bios settings. Bam, no video signal. I've tried everything to get back into the Bios on start-up but still can't get a signal to my monitor. Some people say there's a reset for the motherboard to reset to defaults so I can get a signal again.

Check your manual, there should be a little jumper which shorts out the battery, this restores the CMOS settings to the default values, usually located near to the battery.

You could also just remove the battery for 10secs aswell, this should also restore the factory defaults.................

Just read that in my manual for my motherboard. Thanks for verifying that, though. I'll try that when I get home from work. This can make or break my weekend. LOL..... But let me ask you this. I bought a new GForce 5500 video card that is in my AGP slot. When I reset the CMOS should I have my monitor plugged into the AGP card or my old card that's still in the PCI slot?

It makes no difference really, as long as you have a graphics card connected.

The initial boot is usually in VGA mode, and this is available either with the PCI or AGP.

Most CMOS default to PCI, but if you have AGP in, it should display the output fine, then you can go into CMOS and adjust settings as normal.................Primary Graphics Adapter PCI or AGP.

Hope this helps............
