how do i remove dvd front

hi

i am changing my Xbox dvd due to it being a rubbish thomson one and it keeps messing up.

I have taken it out and the drive is open but how do i take the XBox from off the dvd tray to put on my new one.

it just slides off(upwards)

 

got it off eventually, i wouldnt say it slides off it took a lot of force I was scared of breaking the bits on the ends off that curl around.

sorry to go off topic here but can i straight swap my thompson drive for a samsung drive as my thompson drive is suspect i can't read some games on it anymore but they work on my friends xbox with no problems.

you can straight swap a xbox samsung...if you want to use a pc samsung you will have to mod the drive, and flash xbox firmware to it.

any xbox dvd drive is plug and play.

You can use any samsung PC Dvd-rom drive?
I have one that runs cd-r/rw dvd+r and dvd-r. (no dvd-rw or +rw)
cause if you r saying that I know what I'll be doing

 

are hitachi drives any good at all whats best for xbox to read dvd-r or dvd+r.

only pc drives i have seen modded are the samsung 616 dvdroms...there is a tutorial over at xbox-scene...but i don't think you can use any dvdrom, but i may be wrong.
