TV to DVD

    HI i'm trying to record movies off my tv to dvd i'm using a hauppauge wintv go, and roxio-6, not really happy with the out come as its not working. so i tried a third party software for the capture 'Vodio' well its capturing the file but it getting too big like 12g for 10mins and i know i cant put that on my dvd is there a compression that i can use to make a smaller file or is there a better software that can capture dvd quality files and record them on to dvd. please advice thank u.

    Well the Format used on DVD"s is Mpeg-2 so what you do is Capture your Files the way you are doing it and then after captureing you use a good Mpeg encoder Like "Tmpgenc" to encode the Captured file to Mpeg-2/DVD and then use a DVD authoring program to add your Menu"s and Chapters and to make the DVD....

    There are programs That will capture directly to Mpeg-2/DVD format for you Like "InterVideo WinDVR 3.0" which produces Fairly good quality but you will need to have a Very fast PC like 2.0 to 2.5ghz..

    Captureing the Big AVI files and encodeing them to Mpeg-2/DVD will Produce better quality that captureing Directly to Mpeg-2 but it takes Longer...
