This is just my opinion, but I hope not.

That's all we need is Microsoft splitting up it's resources and pulling A-teams to work on another project.

I hope they keep focusing on what matters, the 360.

Let Phony & Pretendo cut their own throats with the handheld wars.

Maybe in 5 or 6 years MS with rehash the original Xbox in a handheld, you never know what newer/cheaper technology will bring.

Again this is just MY OPINION.

I think they might. I thought they were this year but I was wrong. If they do it will be quite the handheld.

    I COMPLETELY AGREE WITH ATARIBORN.
we've seen in the past, that handhelds make or break you (mostly break). MS has to pay attention to 360.

Personally I don't see why we need more handhelds, with rumor that nintendo is already in the works of producing another handheld to compete with the PSP is ridiculous. Let Microsoft focus on its console, that way they can pool their resources into insuring it is a successfull system with a good selection of games.

Hell no we dont need a microsoft handheld..i think the fact that the 360 is compatible with the psp is sort of a consolation prize...they dont need to compete in a market that doesnt really matter right now.

Microsoft's marketing strategy is still focused on taking over the console world. They dumped millions into developing the first Xbox and I'm certain that they haven't earned it all back yet. I highly, highly doubt that they will branch off and try to take another piece of the market at the same time as they are launching the Xbox 360. A handheld might be feasible at some point in the future but you won't be seeing one anytime soon. I promise.

Microsoft does not have the time to wonder about the handheld industry. They are still trying to catch up with sony's dominance and all their attention is needed there with 360 console now that sony will have the biggest game selection along with the system more than 2X times more powerful in the PS3. They got their hands full as it is.

You said it mangoogle. Microsoft is still trying to make a profit from all that debt. That is why i dont see why people can have the nerve to say Microsoft is number 1. They have lost so much money with every system sold b/s it cost so much to make a xbox.

I don't think Microsoft has the design sense to make a small portable system. Look at xbox and xbox 360, they're huge like components.

Micro$oft have already stated that they will not be realeasing a hand help system in the near future and that they are totally happy with laptop pc's for now.

I have two XBOX's and I love them. I have a Gamecube, a Gameboy Advance, and a shiny new PSP. The PSP is awesome in many ways, but the controls suck - too many buttons on such a small form factor.

It looks like the PS3 kicked 360 in the butt with twice the processing power. Sony appeared to beat the 360 in other areas too, from what I read in the Afterdawn newsletter. M/S was really hoping to be top dog with the 360, but they may have failed. Did anyone else get the same ideas from what they've read?

At least M/S decided to make the 360 backwards compatible with the old XBOX games. I own 50+ games and one of my XBOX's is dying.

Better be careful what you say man, LOL. Some loyal microsoft fan that just cant accept the power of the PS3 is going to deny it being more than twice as powerful as the x box and state something stupid like "man sony is lying about the ps3 power". I get so tired of those few microsoft fans that get so offended everytime someone mentions the PS3 being way better built than the 360. Hey i used to be a hard core sega fan but i was still man enough to accept that graphics and sound were better on the SNES. Microsofts x box is as big as some computer CPU's so i know if they could not make a x box small they couldnot make a handheld system that did not have to be strapped to your back in a backpack. Had sony used as much size in making the original designed ps2 as microsoft did with the huge xbox, I am sure it would have been twice as powerful as the x box.

So you admit the ps2 sucked ass lol, but then again why would ps2 need to be twice as powerful as the xbox, remember the ps2 had "toy story graphics" bwwaahahahahahahhaaaa
