Formatting an Xbox Hd

    i need another hard drive for a friends computer and i have an xbox hard drive laying around. i want to use the hard drive as a normal pc hard drive . i just want to format it and put windows on it , but it wont work. i tried using seagates software and pq magic and windows install software , they didnt work . any help plse, i just need to get the hd completlty formatted to install xp on .

    is the hd unlocked? it must be unlocked to be put into a pc and formatted.

    it must be locked , how do you unlock the hd ????
