I have encoded Starship Troopers which came on 2 DVD's. I have successfully encoded both parts but am having problems joining the two parts together. I have checked the properties of both files with Gspot and they both have the same properties AC3 384kb/s (6 Ch) CBR 48000Hhz and for Video XVID 3119Kb/s 25fps 0.580 bits/pixel. I have tried VirtualDub and Nandub to append the avi's and do a direct audio and video stream copy however the end result is always the same. The audio is fine for the first half of the movie but the second half is out of sync but a few seconds. Any help or advice about getting the audio in sync when joining would be muchly appreciated. Regards, Daniel.
Yeah it happens sometimes that way... The second half is (lemme guess) picture ahead of the audio? You must re-synch the audio in the second half so that it becomes unwatchable by itself, but will be in synch when appended onto the first half. This will involve Nandub (which works okay with AC3 audio) and some trial & error... When using Nandub with both audio and video set 'direct stream copy' you can advance or retard the audio, relative to the video. I have written this solution in detail before, maybe you can search it if req'd. Just remember, 1 second = 1000ms :^) L8R
