    Hi guys

Anyone managed or know how to split 2 main movie titles using Nero recode 2. Or is there any other software that would separate them for me?

    Cheers

If it's just one title, why not use the "re-author mode" in DVDshrink. I do it that way all the time. The only drawback is that it won't let you keep menus.

Thanks for the reply but I don't really want to loose the menus, I don't mind having no extra's or reduced quality on the menu's. I'd just like to split the 2 main movies which are showing up in the same cell e.g. Title 1,2. This however will only reproduce at 51% quality which would be poor.

Under "photos and videos" in Nero smart-start, I think you need to go to "Make or Modify DVD-Video (VR)"... Might have to rebuild the menus. I'm not really sure how to do it because I haven't played with it yet myself, but I think that's where you're supposed to start.

I think I'll have to have a good scan around in Nero's help files and see if I can find out how to use it to its full potential ;)

You might give DVDRemake a try. You can retain working menus although I'm not sure if it will do exactly what your looking for. I use it on all my backups and love it.

Just had a look at that Mort81. But it doesn't seem to want to play ball with a decrypted version of the film. Do you use DVDRemake straight away with the original disk?

    Cheers

Yeah, rip the dvd to your hdd then you have to inport the folder into dvdremake, edit, then export it to another folder, then run it through your favorite encoding app. The trial version will not allow you to export.

The dvd's been ripped but when I click on the folder to import (the Abyss) nothing is imported. The VIDEO_TS shows up but the "add title" button is not highlighted as an option.

Hmm must be doing something wrong. Mine starts import right away. You have to double click the vidio_ts then click select.

I'll have another go with another dvd I think, just in case my process was a bit back to front from the start. I do appreciate your ideas though Mort81.

    Thanks

Hate to disagree, but DVD Shrink does allow you to keep the menu if you so choose. When you click on re-author, simply drag the menu file over and then the 1st movie file. Repeat the same thing when you're ready for the 2nd movie file. I've done it several times. Just did it today with a Kung Fu disc that had 3 movies on it and in the menu it shows the movie title for each one. Each one of them has a sub-menu. Drag and drop, no problem. Did the analysis, then encode about 10mins for each movie. Working for me!

You can install anydvd and clovedvd2 which wil allow you to preserve the menu and your select chapter of the movie.
I have been using these two proggy and they never fail me.

You can keep the menu with dvd shrink in reauthor mode but the menu will not be functional however you can use edit mode in nero recode2 and the menu will be functional.

That is most excellent. I always thought that was a major flaw with the earlier trial versions, never could actually see the benefits of DVDReMake. Good job.
