avi repair

    I have seen loads of repair stuff for loads of formats but none to repair an avi,can it be done?

    Tried loadibg vid with virtualdub and using extended options and from there rederive keyframe flags,it runs but crashes near or at area where the avi is damaged,anyone know of any othe options I can try?

    well if virtual dub crash to , you gotta mark in and out the crash frames then cut the good part with virtualdub.

    use virtualdub , to keep it in avi or frameserve with tmpgenc for vcd .

    it's the only way i see , good luck

    Take no notice of these amateurs. They ain't got a clue. Download avifixed. Sorts it in about 3 minutes. No probs.

    repair an avi???

    it depends on whats wrong with it in the first place. I use avifixed for simple re-indexing but for bad problems virtualdub is the best

    Well peeps,whats happening is that i can play about 80% of the film (avi) and then it goes all greeny and blocky, a prob using virtualdub to pull out rubbish coz it crashes virtual and that's never happened b4 so where can i get this avifixed,,,lol,thanks

    So now after havin read some more advice on this site, I have run my avi thru audiodub (prior to decoding with tmpe) and using the scan video 4 errors, i get"0 frames good,0 frames good but undecodable,have I reach the give uo stage yet?

    Man, are you stupid or what, do a search on google for Avi Fixed, download it, install it, use it, convert your movie, stop wasting everyone's time and yours and stop whining. It took me a month to solve this problem and I've given you the answer,that no ass clown on here had the answer to. I had to solve it by myself.
    Why couldn't you find the program yourself? Lazy? Do you want me to come round your house and do it for you?????? Get with it man. Good luck. By the way - the 'ON' button is at the front of your computer..............

    Thanks 4 the kind words Dela but I am able to ignore the ignorant people in this world. I obtained avifixed but still having no luck with the film which can now be viewed on the computer but will not convert in mpeg with tmpg, I just get an mpeg file that's about 8 mins long and then nothing but a black screen????

    Nothing but a black screen from 8 minutes on?? hmmm must be a frame error or something at 8 minutes. One idea though is to use the tmpgenc wizard to create your mog. when you see 3 options which include "source range", tick the box beside it and select the first 8 minutes (or wherever it usually goes to. then encode it. when it stops at 8 minutes, use the wizard again but this time select the area after the bad point. When thats done you can merge them together by clicking file - mpeg tools and click the merge and cut tab. hope that helps!

I had the same problem the other day where avifixed screwed up the indexing on my movie, but I found a way round it. But if I'm ignorant - then fusk you.
