your probably right, its the hard drive slot. It has a 2.5" detachable HDD, but that looks pretty small even for a 2.5" doesn't it?

yep, sony probably made a "special" harddrive so if you mod it you cant just throw any harddrive in it you want.
no worries though, i have ALOT of faith in the modders. :)

If it has the same type of connectors as a normal hdd even thou it is smaller you should not have a problem putting it in a pc just wont be able to screw it. Plus theres always a USB hdd.
aye aye man

How much usually are the parts you buy to mod your system and where can you get them from? Oh and also is this illegal? Ive never known any friends or anybody that knew about this.

modding your console itself isn't illigal. Technically playing backups of your games aren't even if you own the original (although it is if-y) Now they do get upset you you download and then burn to a backup and play. I don't know or can't site any specific cases obviously though.

Well i have a question as if this is illegal or not. Say you have two XBOX systems, or your friend just brought one over. You burn a backup of your Halo 2 game so that you can play against eachother linked. Is that illegal? Oh and can someone send a link of a place where there is modding parts for all systems?

In the United States you are legally entitled to one backup copy of a piece of media (ie. a movie/game). If you backup a copy of one of your games so you can play against your friend and you are running your copy of the game and he is running your backup copy of the game, then yes that is illegal.
Go investigate the fair-use doctrine and other copywrite laws.

all these laws are pretty vauge, and its not like the government is going to go after you for making TWO backups instead of one. They're too busy with people trying to SELL backups. It is still illigal, just make sure you microwave the disc after you done with your friend ;)and don't even think about playing online with a modded xbox, they'll ban you for good
