i am currently getting a unrecovered read error when i try to backup my dvd, starts caching to about 50% than i get this error. I am using roxio cd and dvd creator 6 have a pioneer dvr a05 dvd burner using verbatim dvd-r 8x media. If anybody could help me with this i would appreciate it.
It sounds like the disc you are trying to copy is dirty or damaged. Have you cleaned it well?? Check for scratches and finger prints. If the disc looks OK then it could be corrupt data or a bad pressing of the original. DVD Decrypter is the best at these type discs but it sometimes fails also if the data is bad enough. Jerry
Try using DVD Decrypter (free) and see if it goes all the way through. If it does, use DVD Shrink 3.2(free) to burn the files to your hard drive and or DVD burner. Some copy protection schemes will give you read errors like that! Russ
