Just purchased the Sony DCR-HC90. It has USB streaming and VCD burn capabilities but what i really want is to be able to burn my miniDV tape videos to DVD. I ordered an adaptec 3 port firewire card. Will I be able to copy the video to DVD using my fireware card? I read somewhere in the manual that to copy the video, i can use Sony's Click To DVD software and a Sony laptop/PC that has a firewire card. Anyone knows if this is proprietary only? I would really hate it if this camcorder won't allow me to transfer my videos to my PC and DVD discs unless I purchase Sony products... any help would be greatly appreciated...

Once you get the video on your hard drive as DV-AVI (which is the case is you use a Firewire connection and do a simple transfer) you can do whatever you want without having to rely on specific brand products.
