Does any one know about the starting price of the ps3?

Do u think it will be less then the ps2 came out?

You don't even know what the price will be, right now it's all just speculation. You so easily forget how much the PS2 was suppose to cost when it came out, but things were scaled back and the price went down as a result.

Do you honestly think that there will be many people that will pay $500 for a gaming console? Sony isn't stupid, setting it up to be at that price would be eliminating a large segment of their market. They would rather be in the red for a year or two (like Micro$oft was with the XBox) than have too much product sit on the shelf.

People would pay $500 dollars for a system becasue when ps2 came out it was $500 and then the price decreased slowly. But I heard that PS3 is gonna Cost around $700

happy i'm a pc gamer now. you have a little more freedom with that kind of thing.

imho opinion, the prices are getting out control and every single executive at Sony needs to be taken out behind the headquarters and have a bullet put in the back of their head.

but i feel that way about Microsoft, as well.

Estimated price is 100 dollars more than xbox(300)

so expect to pay at least 400 bucks for it 6 months after its release date. expect to pay more within 6 moths of release date.

i suppose curiosity beats out logic, as this discussion continues on. you're probably right about the price.

various reasons...everything from inflation and the changing currency exchange rates to the fact that Sony is going to build a more advanced console that would lose an incredible amount of money at that price.

they did with the ps2 if u remember but got what they lost in hw meny was sold

the ps2 didn't have as many advanced features for the time, however, and lacked the need to purhase everything Sony is going to have to t successfully produce the ps3. also, haven't you noticed the rise in the cost of gaming technology? my bet: at least $400 US, maybe $450, and that's still a loss.

that's the minimum...i bet, at first, it will still be more.

Hey don't you all remember the Neo-Geo? The starting price on that sucker was $499.00! This was like nine years ago. So I believe this was the most expensive system by far.

i don't think that a system would sell verry well at $500 especaily with people spending extra on gas
