did you place LAME in the EAC directory? did you make sure EAC sees that lame.exe file under the compression options? Go back and double-check the steps on that guide. Also, make not that on the left when ripping you have the option to click mp3 or wav, so be sure you're clicking the right button when ripping

yeah, i think so. everythings in the same folder. it says LAME mp3 encoder under my settings.

and i have the mp3,wav, image all that. but when i try using the "mp3 option" it starts extracting as wavs

yes it will first extract as a wave, then a dos-like window will pop up which is the lame encoder

no problem. for scratched CDs, EAC is the only way to go. using the "secure" rip method, (don't use burst method), EAC is the only ripper that does a 100% accurate rip. but if you have severly scratched CDs, be sure to clean them as best as possible for ripping. I use a low concentrate rubbing alcohol and a lint free cloth. that usually works pretty good. good luck...

hey no problem, you gotta learn somehow, right?

click on EAC > Drive Options > Extraction Method tab. Click on secure mode
