Hello everyone. First time user here so if I should have posted this elsewhere I apologise. Is it possible to get some kind of equipment other than a camcorder to transfer footage from a mini dv tape to a PC via firewire(kind of like a tape deck or such). I find I miss a lot of stuff going on at home when capturing from my camcorder. Have I explained what I mean okay?
There are decks for miniDV tapes, but not many shops sell them. Transfer from a deck works exactly the same as transfer from a camcorder, so you could argue why you should bother to buy a minDV since you apparently already have a camcorder.
