    I have posted other questions about this, but nobody can answer it.
    My Sony Dvd all of the sudden won't read blank TDK media.
    I have used TDK in the past with no problems ever, now its like I never inserted a disc.
    After the blank stops spinning DvdDecrypter says there is no media.
    I have the latest firmware.
    PLEASE if you can point me in the right direction.

    I've read a few of your other posts to this problem. You've used Memerox and TDK both are known to use CMC as a manufacture. If your discs are manufactured by CMC (high probabilty due to your problem) that can be your problem. Go to the store and buy some Fuji (made in Japan) or Verbatim DataLife and try again

    TTG02 are good disc. Try rebooting your computer or even clean the new disc.

    This happened to me once before and all I did was clean the disc.

    I did a quick search on the mc code (TTG02) and it seems others have had this same problem - so think it's safe to say that is your problem.
    Here's just one thread with some problems with TTG02: http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/114809
    Even if the discs burn okay today you will more than likely have a problem with them down the road. Too bad they weren't TYG02. Definitely switch to TY or Verbatim.
    I swear by TY's and buy mine at supermediastore.com
    If I were buying at a store I would stick with my above post.
    Try this and let us know how it turns out.

    Hi, I just wanted to give you an update.
    I bought the Sony Dvd-r 8x @ Best Buy and they work GREAT.
    I will NEVER use Memorex or TDK again.
    My burner seems to like Sony,Verbatim and Fuji's the best I will stick to these for now on. Thanks for the suggestions. :)

    ooooooooooh...cmax..i just noticed your backup was regarding "intimate encounters" grrrrr sounds tasty~ :p whoo hoo~

    i have a few of "those kind" of titles as well~ not that many, but a few~ :)

    i don't like TDK media personally, and im not even speaking about the CMC MAG manufactured ones..but, the TT ones~ sometimes they work, sometimes they don't...too much risk involved for me as well.

    as everyone else here so generously suggested...especially YOU binkie7, TY and Verbs once again are victorious~ good call on that one, very good comments, i will have to agree with you FULLY~ :)

    Thanks for posting back - you have hopefully helped other members by doing so. Some members swear it's not their media but when using iffy media chances are it is.

    @cmax420,

    Stay away from "memorex" and you won't have to worry about any coaster in the near future. My first and top media is FUJI 8X DVD+R, "Disc ID: YUDEN000-T02-00 (made in Japan). I've backed up over 200s with this media on both DVD movies and PS2 games, and I've never seen any coasters so far. Evidently, this is what I use and prefer: FUJI DVD+R, Verbatim DVD+R, MAXELL DVD+R, SONY DVD+R and lastly TDK DVD+R. Hopefully, you won't buy anymore memorex from now on.

    @binkie

    how RIGHT you are...perhaps i should, i will really reconsider the advice you have given me here, and especially since it is from a woman that i highly respect on here, it gives it that extra "nudge" to do so~ :)

    CMC MAG is going DOWN...i am leading my TY army into battle at full force today, this is like my 10th post about memorex/cmc mags being crap~ eyes are getting heavy...m..u...s..t...finish...this...sentence :)

    i must be ill, haven't had to mention CMC or Memorex today, but then it is early i guess.

    My kids are growing up too fast and learning more about PC's than i can believe; my eldest (she's 7) rang me a few days ago and said 'dad my dvd is skipping'. I was all prepared to call Social Services in case someone had let a CMC Mag into the house, but it was one of the first TY's i'd ever burnt. In fact 2 of them skipped.

    Looks like the player in question (Samsung 807) is either showing it's age (it's old but hasn't done may miles, has never been used very much), or is just picky due to said age. That machine has fond (and expensive) memories, 'twas one of the first 'budget' players and one of the first region-free players available in the UK if i recall correctly (1999 i think). I was on shifts at the time, and the various shifts were monitoring a particular forum avidly (think it was Home Cinema Choice), as ppl up and down the country were spotting a select few machines in various stores; it was pandemonium all around the country as there were so few machines being sold, and in so few places.

    Anyway, i don't use TY on that machine anymore, back to the Verb's as it loves those. But at least if that player does give up the ghost or play up with any other disks, i can just buy an el cheapo player instead of some big-name machine and get great results with all the disks
