My friend modded his Xbox and like a fool threw away the sticker with the serial number from the bottom where one of the screws were. Now he's getting mail saying his Xbox is one of those which need a new power cord. He asked me if there was any way to find the serial from the Xbox, like on the motherboard. I know he needs the serial because when I needed to get a new power cord from my xbox, the website asked for it. Thanks

depending on what dash he has installed he can check in his system settings and it shows you the serial number :)

Evox. Oh, is it the one menu which gives the cpu temp and other stuff? I never even thought about it.

I only got mine because I wanted to be able to hook it up to my DLP tv and in my room without having to unplug the cord.

It's funny how some people react to this. If you read what MS says in the warnings it reads something like "If you're not using your xbox, turn it off". I thought that was common sense. If you're not using your vacuum, turn it off.

He wants it anyway, but free. I think he might have XBMC, but I'm not sure. I tried finding it in evox, but I couldn't.

By the way, do you recommend the Unleashed dashboard over evox?

well to the people that are experienced with modded xbox's evox is horseshit...most of us prefer unleashX or Avalaunch...evox is a dash for rookies, and has not been updated in ages.

Evox is a very basic dashboard, but it's also the most stable.

Not to mention, you can launch any of the other dashes from Evox.

Thanks for telling me. I'll get one of those and put it on my xbox. Know of any tutorials or good links to look at?
