hey people
i dont really have much info but i would like to know which console is better i already have a n64 and Ps2 so i think the Ps3 will be better. i heard they use a new good blue quality laser now instead of the cheap red laser in ps2. basically this thread is to see other people's opinions so i can get some help on what to buy.

as of right now it looks like the xbox will have more functionality as far as onlien gaming, pc connectivity, and media playing.

but it is rumors the ps3 will have better graphic capabilities, we dont really know what the games will really look like, due to the announcment that everything showed at e3 was pre-rendered on a pc

as far as games they both have great games coming out, the past few years xbox has signed on some key developers and are about even as far as quality developers go, plus they are making deals with squaresoft now (which is basically the last really good dev they lack) and ffXI will be comign out for the xbox 360 with enhanced graphics and 5.1 sound supposedly.

as for the "good blue laser" true it is a blue laser, but its called "blu-ray" and the ps3 games will be on blu-ray disc basically blu ray has a smaller laser surface, so it writes more defined, and can essentially fit more data onto a disc, but as far as quality of it, we have yet to see, because the ps3 will be the first unit to have them, which makes some people weary, they dont like the fact that they are being used as guinea pigs in testing both blu-ray technology and the new cell technology. We basically have not been reassured by sony that both systems have been tested and will indefinetly work, which could equal failing ps3's when they first come out.

You'll get a blue laser, but it will no doubt be cheap quality like the PS2. We are guinnie pigs, after all.

yea im getting the xbox when it comes out, but will probably hold off on getting a ps3 till its been out for a couple months just to be safe

i have no knowledge about the consoles so i need some peoples opinions so i can get the best one. so i am leaving the thread open

Man come on now. Microsoft and any other company will have defects in products when they are released. Oh by the way at least Sony did not have a cord defect that might cause the system to cause a fire and burn up your house like Microsoft did. They had to replace some cords just to protect themselves from the possibility of lawsuits so hows that for defects.

If i had the money, well my bad, i do have the money. But still i am going with Sony b/c the library of games is already a guarantee. Microsoft still lags behind and until they show me they can get a bigger library of games why should anyone go with xbox 360??

i agree i am probably going to get a ps3 but isnt xbox 2 a more powerful machine with more features and better graphics and all that
Ps3 is no doubt going to have more games than other consoles just like the ps2.

that xbox cord effect was bull crap, i have 3 xbox's. one of the first ones. i got it when it came out, a new one. and the green halo edition xbox. no fires, it only catches on fire if you have a crappy electrical system in your house
