This is my second unit. The first one only accepted half the Verbatim DVD-R I used to record on after it worked fine for over 20 of the same discs?
Now the new machine records on DVD-R perfectly but there is a new problem.
All the Verbatim DVD+RW discs I recorded on the old machine will not play on the new one. It indicated no disc when I try. I use these to record tv and they are not finalized. It worked on the old machine and I even put away my vcr! If I record a fresh DVD+RW it records fine and plays back but if I remove it from recorder and reload it------it dosn't recognize it!!!!!!!!!!!
    Anybody have any ideas?
    Thanks-Gary

    DVD+RW disks don't require finalization.

I think it is because your old machine has different format. Base on this reason the new ones can not read it. Did you format the new disc(DVD-VR) before you use it?

    QUESTION....Please:

Just curious....What file format does the LiteOn 5005 create, "record to", on the DVD's....??...What is the file output format...?

Is it something unique to the LiteON 5005 or does it create DVD compliant file structure...ie: VIDEO_TS and AUDIO_TS folders like on regular DVDs...??

    Thanks,
    adc
