Does anyone know if you can use your PC to send games to the PS2 hard drive like a modded Xbox?

When burning this program to a cd, do not put the .elf version of the program on cd, the .elf file is meant for the memory card version hack as I explained (method 2). If you are having problems finding the cd version, send me a PM with your email and I will send you the .cue and .bin to burn using CDRwin!

Kind of 2 questions.

When you have games on the hard drive, can you use that hard drive copy to play them online.

And if you can play them online, can you get like caught and/or in trouble for playing online.

Like with XBOX if you have a mod chip in ur XBOX and go on XBOX live your xbox live account gets terminated or something. Does the same thing happen with PS2?

(Method 2:
You can make a install disc to put it on your memory card and tell it to boot from a ps1 game of your choice. (Not all ps1 games, just 1 of your choice you choose to make hd loader boot up).

This method is for people who do not have a modded ps2 and must use a swap method like swap magic.)

Can't I just burn HD Advance from the net on to CD and use my swap magik to boot HD Advance? and if yes why should people who use swap magik use this method I don't see the logic. 2nd question:I'm confused why would people want to copy burned back ups with hd advance when they can use a rented original game and copy it to your hard drive?

Mallaug, renting games and copying into your HD is considered stealing. It's not yours to begin with. You can do that (depending if you have any morals), but I don't think you can suggest it on this forum.

Regarding the format of the HDD when using HDAdvance or HDLoader, is it the same? Can I format the drive with HDLoader, put a few games on, load HDAdvance and see all the games?

Ok, for the people who want to know if you can play the games you put on the hard drive online, you cannot, except for the older games likes atv offroad fury and stuff, basically you cannot play any game off the hard drive online that uses the DNAS check, because the DNAS check makes sure you have the orginal disc and looks for a signature, and it definitly would not work from a hard drive.

Hey guys, just thought I would check in on this post. Yes I have been receiving lots and lots of PM's, and I am trying to keep up with it, it's pretty hard, especially since I am on a 56k dial up modem heh. Well, continue to PM if you need help, I check daily, if you want files directly emailed to ya, it will be a delay due to my internet...

Does anyone have any questions regarding hd loader btw that were unanswered? Cause I will be happy to answer any of them!

HD Advance 2.0 is out. It supports bigger HD's (one's over 137GB). I'll probably toss a 160-200 in there. My question is, will there ever be a resolution to the DNAS problem/does HDA2.0 solve that problem? I do not have a modded PS2, and will be doing the Swap trick, do I have to trick the PS2 into thinking the drive is open/closed (no fliptop here)? Or is there a feature where I can load off one disc, stop it, and then boot up with another.

Actually one more quick question. Are Swap Magic and HDAdvance 2.0 stamped discs, and therefore cannot be copied, or are they able to be downloaded online?

Sorry for the newbish questions, I've been reading about this for awhile and still don't have all the answers.
Thanks in advance.

There are no tricks for bypassing the DNAS check, in order to play a game online that uses DNAS check, you MUST have the original disc in all cases.

I am pretty sure the discs are stamped, but if they are not, you would of been able to find them at the suprnova site, but if you look on the homepage of afterdawn.com, suprnova.org has shut down their torrent files due to legal issues...

UPDATE:
I have been thinking... I think there is one way to bypass the DNAS check. But you will need an offical Sony PS2 Hard drive to do it.

The reason I suspect this is because FFXI is played off the offical hard drive, has DNAS checks, and needs no disc. So mabye since it is an offical coded hard drive, mabye you could turn that hdd to a hd loader one and give it a try and you might get passed the DNAS...
