Tried straight back up without changing the dummie file, still didn't work. File size = 3.90gb > more than 4gb when burnt.

Note:
Some games have dummy files in them.(ie. guilty gear, spider-man 2). They are used to beef up the size of the image and to copy-protect the game. Burning games with the dummy files left unchanged will result in a game that does not boot (using swap magic anyway). To remedy this annoyance follow these fun steps. Make sure you create an ISO for the game on your hard drive before you start using DVD Decrypter or other burning program. Also create a empty folder on your hard drive for the new files. Also keep ISO Buster open the whole time as you will need it for the last steps.
Step 1.
Open up ISO Buster and select-> File, Open Image, and then browse for the ISO you have created on your hard drive. Next click on the first file in the list on the right side of the screen, then hold down shift and click on the last file so that all of the files are highlighted. Continue to hold shift and right click on the highlighted area and select the Extract Objects option and then choose the folder on your hard drive to save it to.
Step 2.
Create a new text file. Open it and press the space bar once, then choose save as. Browse for the files you just extracted and click on one of the garbage files so it takes the same name. Then when it asks if you want to overwrite the existing file say YES. Repeat this for each Garbage or Dummy file.
4. Now that you have replaced them all you can use either Nero or CDVDGEN or another program (ISO Buster may have this option) to take those files and create a new ISO to burn. You must drop and drag the files into the program in the same order that they are in ISO Buster (this is why you kept it open)
5.Open up Nero burning rom and create a new UDF/ISO dvd (It's the last one in the list). Drop all the game files into Nero in the same order as it is listed in Isobuster. Nero will change the order of the files graphically, however they burn in the order that you dropped them in.
6. Now just burn the new ISO.

a good program ive started using is UltraISO its shareware you can actually edit the ISO's and save them, its a good way to change and make new dummy files. It worked really well for me when changing the 700mb dummy file for HD loader.
Ill be changing the sd vs raw 06 dumym file it a few hours when its downlaoded

if you have a new cobver that may be the problem. I got a fliptop cover and it only worked properly whe n i applied pressure to it. fortuantly i found a jar of marbles and laced that on the flip top cover now the games load fine. Maybe you should weigh it dow some how

You could try that or reinstalling it. My flip top was off centered, and caused my disc tray to be off center as well. There are a lot of cheaply made flip tops out there.

3 DVD's isn't a lot. I've wasted twice that many on NBA Live 2006, before I got it working right. The slim tools are goofy. I didn't know you had a slim. There are couple alternatives you should be aware of:
Q. What do I need to use Swap Magic?
A. With fat PS2 v.1-11: Flip top: http://www.chipzone.com/installation/playstation2/fliptop/page1.cfm Slide Card: http://www.saveware.com/SlideCardUsageAndInstall.htm With Slim PS2 v.12-14
Flip top: http://www.chipzone.com/installation/playstation2/fliptop-v12/pag... Magickeys (also referred to as slide tool, slim tool or, magic switch): http://magickeys.net/ or tape and tissue mod: From Pretense: If the fliptop doesn't work, just give up on it and do a tape and tissue mod. Open up your case again and tape the back sensor (toward the upper left and beneath the hinge part of the lid) with duct tape or even regular Scotch tape (I use several layers to be on the safe side), put the case back together, and stuff a small ball of tissue into the hole for the front sensor (lower right just above the power button).

Nero automatically alphabetizes the files as you drag them in. It will burn them in the order you drag them in however. Even if it looks all out of order, as long as you drag the files into Nero in the same order they're listed in IsoBuster, it'll burn them in that order.

You certainly haven't tried all possible solutions. If I read your posts correctly, you haven't tried rebuilding with Nero and IsoBuster. That's exactly how someone on the first page got it to work. It's a lot easier that rebuilding with CD/DVDGen. You don't need to open the dummy files, all you do is double click the file name of the original dummy file after you create a new text document and press the space bar once (unless you meant if freezes then). Try rebuilding with Nero and IsoBuster. If you can do it the other way, you can certainly do it with Nero and IsoBuster. I'm not trying to talk down to you (42 backups is way more than I've made for the PS2 so far), it's just apparent to me you haven't exhausted all possible avenues.

Well if all the game files are present on the DVD's you burned, you could use DVD Decrypter to reconstruct the original iso. I believe you'd want a copy that has the original dummy file intact. Then use DVD Decrypter MODE-->ISO-->READ and set the read speed at 1x. That should work. If you have overwritten the dummy files in all your rebuilds, I don't know if you can reconstruct the iso or not.

fuckery's....oh no wait i made one straight back up! haha hope that works... im at work now so have to wait till night to try it out..
i dont get how to do this though:
Quote: because the pac folder has the dummy file you have to drop the files from that folder individually and replace the dummy.dat from the iso with your replacement
Does that mean i have to create the PAC folder in Nero or my dektop, then put it on the dvd via Nero, then put all the files seperatly?

No create a text file, hit the space bar once, so it has a byte of data and name it dummy.dat. Then move it to the PAC folder to wherever you extracted all the files with Isobuster. When windows asks you to replace existing file "dummy.dat" click yes. Then you just rebuild as normal.

11. Q. How Do I rebuild games?
A. With Nero and Isobuster (works as long as no single file is over 2 GB's): http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/197949 Make sure you click DVD and not CD in Nero burning ROM. Uncheck mulitsession and check write under the burn tab. Burn at 2x or 4x after rebuilding. You don't have to use Nero and Isobuster to rebuild, you can use CD/DVDGen if you prefer.
