The Sims is a CD based game. I have copied it onto a cdr and it works fine. Im pretty sure that the magic chip would work with the fliptop cover because the fliptop doesn't affect the circuitry. But you wouldn't need the fliptop. Almost ALL ps2 games work with the swap magic disks if burned correctly and onto the right type of media. Ripped or patched games will NOT work with the fliptop. Hope this answers some questions.
Thanks

Also, if i have a cd based ps2 game, can i burn a copy on my pc onto a cd-r?
Do I need any new kit for my ps2?
Sony have said that cd-r's dont work on the PS2.

Cd'rs do not work on a non-modified system but they work on my fliptop system, I have about 44 games backed up on CDR that were CD based games.

hammerfan, i know what u mean when the red cross comes up in the small box. I only provided that site so people can check if the game is CD or DVD based. (look on back cover). So, sorry, can't help u with that.
PS. Do you think they will go down (W. ham)

Choytooa, I am hoping they dont go down. Want Bolton to go down instead, anyway, thats a footy issue...lol
I was hopeing to use those covers for EasyCD. Think I can by doing a right click and saving the picture as a file. Then importing it into the Jewel Case design.

Yea get a magic 3.1. I have a v7 ps2 that is modded with a magic 3.6. I sent it to xteammods.com and they proffessionally installed it for a cheap price of only $70 including shipping. the site has very good customer service anfd far is the best mod chip installation service. My burnt copy of marvel vs. capcom 2 on a 80min/700mb cd-r worked great. I used some unbranded discs and some memorex. Also my hp dvd+r of hitman 2 booted right up and worked perfect.
Also if you want to know which games are cd rom and dvd just look on the back of the case of the game u want to burn. It tells you right there. SO simple. U could also go to ps2 cover site or ebgames.com
