I don't drop in here as much as I used to. I too, see many pointless posts, but it is quite easy to just leave your name, as is, and come back and post when you feel like doing so.

AD is not your job. I don't understand the point of asking to be banned. I may not come back to AD for a day, week, month, or even a year, but I sure won't be asking to be banned. I may post a scathing diatribe (text form) which will get me banned, before that happens. :)

yeah me to i rather skip the drama ,just do what you have to do stay or get out and be done with it. this isnt real life its just an escape from things for a few mintues /hours whatever ,so making it a big deal just isnt for me. the saftly value should be light hearted topics that dont get people upset

Fully understood. This makes me not feel so guilty for reporting what i feel are offensive posts all the time, and telling people to contribute.

Agreed. I always report th post and sit by and see what happens, but the rare circumstance, i cant help it, some people just piss me off with the lack of useful comments, especially considering their rank. (i wont drop names)

and by all means do so! if they need yelled at then by god do it. there was a time, way back before the auto promote thing, when if an addict or senior told someone something it was just like it was coming from a mod. back then i'd get PM's by addicts letting me know of a certain situation adn i never even bothered to read what it was about, i'd just go in and ban the offender. i knew if an addict(hand picked back then) thought enough of a situation to being it to my attention personally, then someone was getting banned.
my PM box is ALWAYS open for anything that has to do with something wrong in the forums. i dont think the senior and addict status carries as much weight as it used to but know this guys, we DO know who earned that stuts and deserves it, as well as we KNOW who just got it by post count alone. we DO listen, and we DO pay attention to who is doing what, and all that stuff is considered when anything is going on. the guys why play "wannabee mod" annoy me to no end. and just reminding someone of the rules or telling them to edit their post or something is not what i consider a wannabee mod. thats what seniors and addicts are supposed to do! it's when they say things that are totally uncalled for by any rank other than mod. and i dont mean to toot my own horn but i can get away with saying alot more than the other ranks, but i got a ban button so it aint like an arguement would last long. i've only seen 1 situation ever where a mod was questioned by an admin about their actions. and thats all it was, was a questioning, after the mod explained it was dropped. mods are made mods becuase they know the rules, and have been around long enough to have seen almost any situation and have proven they also know how to deal with them accordingly. we also view the addicts and seniors that way, if you make those ranks (without billions of crap useless posts) then we feel you also know the rules and how to deal with certain things. So when we get PM's from seniors and addicts we really do check out the problem and deal with it.
now i hate to name names but this needs to be said, the deal with glitched is that he wanted to be a mod and went about it totally wrong or he might have actually been a good one. there's no need at all for a senior member to post right behind someone breaking the rules and just say "banned", you got no right to say that stuff unless you actually got the button to do it. or he'd come in and say "you're gone" or some other cocky remark. the funny thing is there were a few times where all that happen to the guy was i edited the post, no need for a banning, so glitched ended up looking stupid. there' nothing wrong with showing someone the error of their ways, or reminding them of the things we dont allow here. the problem comes when you act like you can do something more than just report it, which is something everyone is able to do.
we do want everyone to be on the lookout for infractions of the rules, or spam, or flames, etc, ect. but thats about as far as it should go, be the lookouts, let us come in swinging the axe of doom and making heads roll. we dont mind taking the heat for it, and we dont mind the "darthnip is a dick" or "Neph sucks" threads (hell i personally get a kick out of them).

Thank you, all the mods and admins here. I really try to keep cool about things and not get dragged into flame wars, but there is only so much we as members can do about these things other than to report if they violate a rule or two. That is where you guys/gals come in. When stresses add up in life, and i come here to help someone, it really makes one want to take a break when all the arguing and bickering goes on. I believe in giving ppl a chance, but some of these like creaky mentioned just want a fight. And sometimes they gang up, or a noob figures out how to make multiple identities that agree with it in the post. And that hurts many of the regulars who come here to help and have fun. Both go out the window when someone drags us down. Some of them come in here just looking to start a big thread with some controversy and keep adding fuel to the fire until they get banned, if they go far enough. But, they take a few good members with them sometimes. Not all of them come back. Its sad that we can let it get to us that way, and i for one refuse to leave because of such tactics. Im trying to not get banned myself with some of my replies, ive had to not post, or edit them because i might be adding to the fire by posting. Told you, im struggling with self control.
I took a short break, and got some of my act together. Now i try to make it a point to help someone each day i log on to AD. If i can help just one person, then im doing good. The more i can help the better, but i dont want to acheive GOD status. Thats why we have mods here.. :) take the M (mellow) out of mod and put in a G (gangsta) in there. You guys have the right idea, and my support all the way. I love this place, and would like to see it stay a great place to visit and hang out without getting upset in the process.

    hi :)
all you mods are welcome to use one of my fish if it helps
to give them a good slapping with before the button
surprising what a good slapping with a wet fish will do. lol
back on subject, there seems to be a lot of respected members no longer answering posts so much either. (but they are still out there lurking) there seems to of late, been an influx of ppl who only wish to argue the point. which would try the patience of a saint, so i for one don't blame them for taking a back seat for a while

forgot to say, these pics are'nt doing my old heart a lot of good
