Sorry if I misinterpreted your statement but I think most people reading it would see it as a kind of a cheap shot. I still do. And your statement that Most errors reported re: AnyDVD have had a high percentage of problems of people using "cracked" versions is based upon what empirical study? I would be surprised if someone who was using a cracked version of the software would be stupid enough to complain about it. Still no response from Slysoft and we are now 2 1/2 days after my last response.
its time for ye to post ye problem at the horse's mouth,as your problem is with the slysoft development team. http://club.cdfreaks.com/forumdisplay.php?s=56fb5b1ce9483d4745ea2013d1b07975&f=88
Have ye not been reading me posts? I have TRIED to share me problem with them. They simply aren't responding. Sorry about the "ye" thing. I just couldn't resist. Is the URL you posted supposed to be slysoft?
I have already posted my problem on CD Freaks. No one there has come up with an answer either. I was kinda hoping Slysoft would find some time to answer my problem since it's a problem with THEIR software and I am clearly not the only person experiencing it. Slysoft, however, has failed to respond after more than two days. What should I think about that?
did ye think that 1ClickDVDCopy can be causing ye problem,as 1ClickDVDCopy was not designed to be used with anydvd.clonedvd was p.s the problem is still between you and the slysoft team cheers
Unless slysoft has a crystal ball how are they supposed to know what updates Microsoft will come out with, and whether their program of the updates will cause conflicts. So far I have had no conflicts with AnyDVD and other programs, the only conflict I have ever had was when I had an Aspi installed, which can cause USB drives not work properly. AnyDVD does the best it can to insure its program runs well with as many other programs as it can. I don't see you contacting 1click and asking them why there program does not rip as it supposed to and needs a third party program to do so.
kissmiss....... Here is why I said that about the serial number! Remember you saying that in your original post? I wasn't [bold]blaming[/bold] you for anything! So don't get all pissed at me! They want to make sure that you're a legal owner of the software, to give you support! If you want to fuss at me, for reminding you what you were supposed to do, you know where you can put it!
Again I would want to put some perspective on this issue. Firstly, AnyDVD IS designed to be used with 1Click and they tell you so themselves. IClickDVD is a long-established program that I have used for years with NO problems (well, there was one problem that their tech support nailed in a few hours). It's a much larger and more comprehensive program than is AnyDVD. 1Click worked fine with DVD43 and DVDFree but DVD43 ran out and everyone raived about AnyDVD so I downloaded it, tested it and then bought it. It was only after upgrading it that the s**t hit the fan and it's never been the same since. If you read a few other forums you will find that there are a number of people having exactly the same problem I am having even though Slysoft tries to assure me that I am the only one in the known world who is experiencing it. They are either ignorant or they are lying. There are no other options. And I continue to agree with you that Slysoft is the appropriate place to bring my problem. Do you have a tech support phone number for them? Ooops, I forgot. They don't HAVE a tech-support phone number, do they? Well I guess I could send them a few more emails but I have been there and done that and they aren't responding. I'm open to suggestions. I'm largely posting here and elsewhere in an attempt to shame them into some kind of response since they aren't doing it on their own. Please understand, I am sure that AnyDVD works fine on most systems. It worked fine on my system for a month or two. But the measure of any compant's service isn't how well they do when there are no problems, it is measured instead by how well they respond when there IS a problem. So far Slysoft isn't measuring up well.
arniebear, you are apparently blissfully unaware of how things work in the software world. EVERY major software company knows WELL in advance of anything Microsoft does and adjusts their own software well in advance of the release of any such change in Windows.
I hardly think that AnyDVD is going to be aware of what Microsoft is doing, considering Microsoft is working with Sony to defeat such programs. I do not think AnyDVD is designed for any one specific program but its own, and that is slysoft's other products. As you can see from there advert If you cannot find your key to send to slysoft, then go in your regedit and look it is there, or at least enough of it for you to email slysoft.
Good point on the 1Click Arniebear. It has it's own ripper. Though I suspect that AnyDVD works with 1Click in most cases. I installed the 1Click. I got it as gift to try out. At the time they were even including VSO's CopyToDVD as an incentive. The short end of it was that the decryption software was getting hung on the Arccoss encryption. AnyDVD sailed throught the same releases, full disc with no problems. In some cases 1Click could squeak by with movie only. There was no conflict having the AnyDVD and 1Click together. I did get rid of the 1Click, even though it was free, because it just didn't stack up. AnyDVD is still here. Ireland is quite right about there being only one common app most of us are aware that interferes with AnyDVD, DVD43. Of course there's the cracks, but that's a program error induced by poor cracking and not the software makers problem. I've gone through a lot of programs, maybe not as many as Ireland, but I have to agree with him, other than DVD43, I've run across none that effect AnyDVD. I question the many and suggest it is very few, at least to the experience of most users. Nothing is 100%. But most of us would like to know the program causing the problem. As pointed out, it's most likely your system and not the AnyDVD. I have Windows XP set for auto update, so I get all the updates. I've yet to experience a problem. So, it's nothing experienced by all users getting Windows updates. There it goes back to something else on the system also contributing to the problem. It's not Windows and it's not [bold]"MANY"[/bold] programs, I doubt even 1Click in many cases. I'm anxiously awaiting the compilation of that "MANY" list. So far we have DVD43 and Cracks. Are there any additions. We're always going to have someone disgruntled over anything, but for a few individuals to say the problem is broader than isolated incidents takes a little thought. Since the program was working with 5.9.5.3 and not with 5.9.5.6, I'm mystified there haven't been more complaints if it were a systemic problem with the new release. Other than Kissmiss and DVDGalore, I've heard of no other complaints. Will the 2 of you supply us with links to other forums where the "Many" are complaining and not just isolated incidents as here.
IMHO, which all can dump on if you want, but running two programs that have rippers can cause conflicts. If you are ripping with DVDFab Decrypter it is not a good thing to have DVD43 or AnyDVD running behind it. AnyDVD has been known to have problems with Intervideo products. No program is infallible and I have not seen one that does not get a bug up its a$$ every once in a while. Computers get senile and lose files, thank god for system restore. If this was a perfect world this and other forums would not exist.
As I have stated at least twice, I got the earlier version of the program running as a result of a posters suggestion on CDFreaks. I had that serial number days ago and sent it in each time I tried to elicit a response from Slysoft. I am really surprised that so many posters have gone out of their way to tell me what [bold]I[/bold] am doing wrong but everyone seems to feel it's OK that Slysoft has failed to respond to me for 2 1/2 days. What's wrong with that picture? I have fulfilled every part of my bargain with Slysoft. Slysoft has done NOTHING to comply with their agreement to assist me should I have problems with their software. How am [bold]I[/bold] the bad guy here? Is there anyone out there that would feel "supported" were they having the problem I am having and couldn't get even a single email response from the company? Dig yourselves, people. Point your finger in the appropriate direction here.
Your problem as ireland pointed out lies with slysoft, no one on this forum has any ties to them. They do not post on this forum, they do however post at CDFreaks. All anyone here can do is point out that there maybe other problems. Have you checked out your spam folder, considering sometimes replys get sent there by mistake.
From Slysoft's website describing AnyDVD.......... [bold]Works with all DVD copying, such as CloneDVD, and all DVD player software[/bold]. Why am I the only one who can find this stuff?
Check on CDFreaks. Lots of problems there. I suspect that many users have not upgraded to the 5956 yet so there may be a limited number of complaints until the majority of users do the upgrade. Please, people, I don't want to blow my own horn but I have been a computer consultant since 1982. I make my living troubleshooting these kinds of issues. While I certainly would not pretend to know the specifics of DVD creation software nearly as well as a large number of the posters on this and other forums, I certainly am familiar with the tech support offered by hundreds of companies. Whatever else you might want to say about the program, AnyDVD, you have to agree that the tech support I have experienced from the company, Slysoft, can be referred to as nothing less than woefully inadequate.
Hi, Had the same issue with the latest anydvd and solved it by: 1. Doing a system restore to a time before installing the latest anydvd 2. Installed once again the newest release of anydvd 3. re-registered with the key, rebooted now it works. There is a windows update that I noticed having something to do with DRM windows media player 10. (keyword is DRM..rootkit as anydvd removes that per the release notes.) I updated windows before installing the latest version of anydvd no problems now. My suggestion is there is a minor conflict between the updates from microsoft and anydvd (willing to bet the particular microsoft update was a 'test-run' to cimcumvent software with ripper/ bypass capabilities). Update windows then update anydvd.
i posted this b4 just info, QUOTE After the last update to windows XP that I did today which had 4 updates clonedvd and anydvd would start and when you select the movie for copy it would not display the chapters and would stop responding. I removed the latest windows updates after trying everything else I could think of and clonedvd worked fine again. Has anyone else had this happen? Is windows tryin g to stop dvd copy software?
