I used CloneCD, see the screenshot. I don't know what the hell CloneDVD is, I've never used it. CloneCD handles DVD and CD with no problems.

I know its dual layer and thats what i used. I keep hearing about this bit setting thing could this be why my games are not working if it is I have an aopen duw1608 burner. I have upgraded my firmware and this did not work. I am hoping someone can help me.

As per the tutorial load that .dvd file with CloneCD and it'll find the rest of it. Has to be in the same directory unless you moved it. Theres actually two files.

First i have an .360 file...and i rename to ISO.
Second i used ss merged 1.6 with the correct SS.
Third i click in the big botton, it takes several time to finish.
In the end...i have the ISO, but now the size is bigger, and i have an DVD file with the same name but with 1KB....

I'm going to stop responding to questions that are caused by not following the tutorial..... Where in my guide does it say rename any files Pedro?
After you patch the game, write the game using CloneCD. Period.

Pedro, after patching you should have two files. One is really Small (the file your referring too) which just tells CloneCD the attributes for the actual iso your burning, which is prob about 7+ gigs. It should be named the same thing as the small file with a different extension. probably .000, I've even seen .001 in some instances. Open the small file with CloneCD and set your burner to 2x if you dont want skipage. Now burn and enjoy your backup.

What is newsgroups. Wow, a loaded question.... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Newsgroups#Binary_newsgroups is some good info that'll get you started. Concentrate on Binary Newsgroups for getting files instead of reading discussions.
Your XBox drive will read original games still and will also start to read copied games.

I played on M Live this morning with no problem. I'm told and not sure how accurate this is, "Microsoft has no way of editing/disabling/viewing your DVD firmware or see if you made any changes too it." That tells me that they can't update it thru XBox live and can never update it or disable the hack.
I guess the only thing they can do is add the updates to new retail games which I'm not even sure they can do since we had to connect it to PC to edit it, wouldn't they have too also? If you could edit the firmware via the 360 putting the xtreme firmware on there wouldnt have been so hard for us eh?
All speculation and just me making an educated guess. I figure if they could fix it, they would have already.

You could possibly make your DVD drive totally un-useable if you do it incorrectly and don't know how to fix it....
Search afterdawn on a tutorial for newsgroups. I'm currently writing one for my site, but it's not finished yet.

Welcome newbie. Hope you stick around. Are you following the tutorial exactly? Most of the time you don't need to adjust any bitsetting. I've tried on three different drives w/o problem....

Hi Guys,
Another newbie I'm affraid, asking what is probably a stupid question: Tweeder, in your tutorial you mention that regular rips don't work, only xtreme rips (patched or otherwise), how do I go about creating a xtreme rip?

straight rips of the games (usually released by Pi just won't work).
must be DVD+R dual layered or it wont work. period. nothing else will work.

So it isn't possible to create the rips yourself? Just download the DVD+R rips from the internet?

I believe its possible, search afterdawn, theres a few tutorials on it. It involves opening your 360 and some DVD swapping. Doesnt sound too fun but possible.
