I have four Sata on my motherboard and everytime I try and MTKFLASH I get NO DRIVE DETECTED. I have Gigabyte GA-m55plus-S3g mobo and I think my chipset is Nvidia Nforce 430. What is going on....I have spent 10 hours already. This is what I get when I run "msinfo32".

good luck getting a response in this thread. i am still waiting on a response for my post, even though i got my 360 flashed allready. youd be better off making a completley new thread with everything uve said in here.

I went to all the local stores around here looking for a sata card & no luck. Seems like everyone has USB only. I went to get the one from bestbuy Adaptec, but all local bestbuys are out of stock & backorder 2 weeks online. That is all I need.

Hi,
I'm using a Dell Dimension Core 2 Duo with onbard SATA. I have the no drives detected problem. I followed Ronnie's guide and ended up with the following.

Here is a summary of what i have done so far
1.opened xbox unplugged sata cable from back of dvd drive.
2.created boot disk (cd) floppy wont create boot disk
3.put mtkflash.exe---mtkflash.typ---xtreme.bin---xtreme0800.bin
on boot disk
4.installed rosewill rc-212 sata pci card with via 6421 chipset
5.connected xbox dvd drive to sata card via sata cable
6.booted pc to a: typed mtkflash r/m orig.bin
7.said reading went to 50% back down to 0% (did this twice)
8.rebooted to windows file orig.bin is on floppy
9.opened orig.bin with hex workshop went to 4000 then 200 copied info
10.opened xtreme.bin went to 4000 then 200 pasted copied files from orig.bin saved as modified.bin
11.booted to a: drive again entered mtkflash w m modified.bin
and got port 170 master/slave:b0 everytime i do it
12.tried burning the 0800.bin file to DVD+R DL and using mtkflash to read or write the firmware again but thats all i get.
13.downloaded lost planet from a web site file extracted to .iso file and a .dvd file. burned with clone cd and dvd encrypter(set the layer break to the appropriate number neither copy worked but i did get a screen that said please put disc in a xbox 360.
14.using pioneer 111 burner verbatim DVD+R DL media.
I have spent about 12 hours on this today someone please help me.
i have tried waiting 10-20 seconds with the 0800 disc in the 360 tried turning on the xbox once im at the prompt for mtkflash
i don't know what else to do

coryjb69: I am in a similar situation. I too have installed the rosewill RC-212, but my pc will not recognize it. Did you install the driver CD or no? I'm not sure how to change the settings that you need to change, (RAID Mode disabled/SATA mode active?) and it seems that you are on the right track, perhaps you could advise? When 360 is powered on and connected to SATA card, I can run mtkflash r /m orig.bin, but only 1) IDE Master & 2) IDE Slave show up as options? Where am I messing up?
There are so many forums out there I don't know who to listen to.
I am basically starting over as I do not want a $400 brick.

The problem i had with my rosewill was the jumper settings it has 4 ports and by default it set for the 2 internal ports to be active as soon as i changed to the external ports everything worked great I have now successfully hacked a samsung ms25 and a toshiba 47d!!!I will be happy to answer any questions as everyone here has been sop helpful to me

Everyone is saying make sure you disable RAID, can someone tell me why?
I've flashed 360 dvd drive with RAID on and have had no problems at all.

5.2 for Samsung now. I finally updated mine with it. I had the 1st Samsung firware released on mine for about 6 months until a couple of days ago.

Hi again all,
Flashed my 360 a few days ago with no problems a MS25 samsung drive, Works fine,
Gone to do my bro's but his is a MS28 Samsung drive, So i followed the guide but upon flashing start i get this message :-
MTKFLASH Please Wait....
Port:a0000, Master/Slave:a0
And basically it freezes and does not move have i dont something wrong by the way im using a Via VT6421 Raid Controller and my motherboard has a Via Chipset,
Can someone plz help its driving me mad !!

you have to the 10 second trick.
boot from floppy and turn on 360
once you get to the point where you pick which drive to flash turn off the 360 count to exactly 10 and press the button on your pc that goes with the 360 and the power button on the 360 at the same time.
might not work the first try but just keep trying I have done this multiple times with success but sometimes it takes several tries.

Hi i have been having smae problem or 2 days now. I got this card
Here is PCI Sata Controller Casrd 6421 chipset i got
I plugged it into my PCI slot in my computer booted up computer found new hardware i put in the software driver disk and installed i can go to hardware management and i see it there and says its working fine. i went to http://www.viaarena.com/ and got the newest drivers for it. Then i used XBM to create my boot disk for ms28. turned off computer plugged in the sata cable that came with the RAID controller and put it in Primary slot (closet to HDD) and plugged the other end into xbox 360 dvd drive.
plugged in the 360's power and tv connections unplugged all other cables leading to burners, dvd roms, hdd's, turned on 360 and turned off pc loaded my boot disk to DOS typed in mtkflash r /m /sata orig.bin pressed enter and all i get it is No Drives detected.
SO im stuck i dont know what to do here is some of my PC's Specs

I also get the two options
1) IDE Master
2) IDE Slave
both of which offer errors like
port 170: master/slave :a0
its fucked.....plz someone who has succeeded after this post something

Koolyoe-- Any jumpers on sata card? and do not turn on your 360 until you have the A: prompt from your boot disk. I assume XBM is xtreme bootmaker? Make sure diasable raid in your Bios also

I dont think i had ne jumpers on it, but i finally got it to work i had to use my GF computer to do it, worked just like the tutoiral i used didnt have to change anyhting just install the SATA card with the chipset 6421 and it worked. SO for those of you who have tried everything lol and not working try a friends computer or somethign, it may work. Well thanks guys :)
