BEV has been playing with the encryption stream from what I have heard. You may need more that just keys. Possibly a bin file update if you don't have the latest one installed. Do you know which bin you have installed??

New bin files are being released with a better auto roll feature to combat the latest problems. You can probably still manually enter keys but they are changing at a faster rate than before. My suggestion is get the new bin file as soon as you can.

Since you are just starting out, I suggest you join the forum I link to below. Their favorite receiver is Viewsat. Free to join. Then check the newbie/getting started sections for your model receiver. Everything you need is on that forum including the files you need to download. Read all you can including the setup guides.

HIGH JOANA MY NAME IS CHRISTIAN. YOU KNOW WHT I'M ALSO GETTING SCRAMBLE CHANNELS. WHERE CAN I DOWNLOAD THE KEYS FOR COOLSAT 5000 PLATINUM. PLEASE LET ME KNOW. EMIL ME AT ZIANPODESTA@HOTMAIL.COM THANK YOU. AND I HOPE YOU SOLVE YOUR PROBLEM.

I have a question regarding Coolsat 5000. Yesterday, I downloaded new keys and I entered them - everything was working fine, but in a couple of minutes I got scrambled channels again. I repeated this few times, and each time I got scrambled channels after few minutes. Interestingly enough, when I went to change the keys time and time again, what I changed was no longer there. It seems like the system went back to the previous key codes on it's own. Could anyone please tell me what I'm doing wrong?? Maybe there is a step that I am not takeing, and the key codes are not being saved properly, even though I make sure to choose "save" each time I change the key codes. Should I be doing anything else apart from changing the codes?
Any help would be greatly appreciated! :)

Enter 8282 with your remote and that should take you to the key entry area of your receiver.

Hi Jerry,
I only got my Starview box this week so I'm very new to this. I've entered the new codes and my channels seem to be working again OK apart from cutting out for odd minutes.
You seem to know this topic well, please can you advice me on a few things,
Is the BIN file a software update ?
Do you know when the next one will be released ?
Do you know the best place to download it is ?
Cheers

Well I'll try to help a little but I am not familiar with the Starview box at all. Isn't that the box they use in the UK?
Yes the bin file is usually a software update that needs loaded to the receiver by computer. Thats about all I can tell you. Check this thread out that seems to have all the Starview information.

They are not KEY GENERATORS, buy are actually KEY FINDERS. Once you have them on your PC, you just click the link software whenever you need new keys to replace those that have been changed by the sat providers. They will search their respective sites and show you the latest keys needed to get your FTA receiver back up and running. These work for the keys only. If the bin files get re-written, then you need to find the new file and download and install it manually. It could take a few hours for the keys to be updated but they do work well.

HI Jerry, thanks for your response.
Is that directed to sat providers mainly in the US, & could it be used for the same purpose in Ireland eg. SKY? (sister station to FOX)
