I'm sorry but i am not familiar with the PBP Unpacker. I ran into the problem of having a different eboot with the savegame data under a different eboot so now it won't load. I opened the unpacker with the file but I don't know how to change the name and such.

I've been trying to run a PSX game on my PSP for the past two days, and I'm desperate enough to post to this message board. Here's what I did :
(Note : Originally, the PSP was a TA-082 with FW 2.6).
1. I upgraded the PSP to 2.71
2. Using Dark_AleX's downgrader, I was capable of getting 1.5 running on the console without any problem.
3. I got 3.02 OE-A running, then upgraded to 3.02 OE-B. (If I check in System Information, I can read "System Software 3.02 OE-B)
4. Using IsoBuster, I extracted the PSX CD (I tested Tactics Ogre and the demo for FFVIII that came with Brave Fencer Musashi, since all the other games I own are too big for my 512 Mb Lexar memory card -- which is too bad because I felt like playing Grandia) using the "Extract CD image RAW (bin, iso" method.(IsoBuster version is 2.0, grabbed from the official site just two days ago).
5. Using Clean Popstation, I input the SLUS (90029) and the title, then the iso file name. I get a bunch of messages saying everything went well.
6. I upload the files EBOOT.PBP and KEYS.BIN to PSP/GAME/SLUS90029
7. When I try to run the game, I get the "Precautions" message, then the game crashes with "The game could not be started. 80000004".
Here's what I've trying to remedy this problem (with no success) :
* rip the CD using Nero (which doesn't work because I only have the Express version, which only allows me to rip in NRG format)
* using the regular PopStation (with Hot Shot Golf 2 as the BASE.PBP)
* format the memory card
I tried using the Hot Shot Golf 2 PBP and it worked. I think the problem is with the ripping method, but I wouldn't bet my life on it (or even a quarter, for that matter).
Does anybody have any idea about the origin of the problem? Am I doing something wrong in the process?

I'm not totally sure that demos are fully compatible, but knowing that they ran on the PS1 platform, they probably should be. But instead of using Danny_K's popstation, use the ISO>>-->>PBP converter currently posted in the guide.
As for you, krbydrm, go into your PSP (usually drive F:) and go into PSP\SAVEDATA. In there will be a folder that has a shorter title than most PSP savegames. Remember this number, because this is the game ID of your PS1 ISO. Then, download this tool from QJ.NET: http://dl.qj.net/index.php?pg=12&fid=11970, open it up, and select your EBOOT file that's in your GAME\XXXXXXX folder. Change the game ID of the PBP to the same number as the name of the folder in your SAVEDATA directory. Try your game again, and it should work.

I used the PBP Unpacker to load the eboot file but then it sat there for awhile and a message came up saying the eboot was corrupt or something.

Actually there is a missing file from the site you provided. I searched on google for another source but I couldn't find one. I found that qj said there was an illegal file in that so they took it out. Know of another source for me to download the file?

This link works fine: http://dl.qj.net/index.php?pg=12&fid=11970,

Re-convert your ISO file with this converter: http://dl.qj.net/index.php?pg=12&fid=11970,

Are you sure you have a keys.bin file in the same directory? It should read X:\PSP\GAME\NAME_OF_YOUR_GAME\ and in there will be your Eboot.PBP file, and the KEYS.BIN file.

Yes, there is a KEYS.BIN file in the folder.
Is there a known problem with certain types of memory cards? I have a Lexar Memory Stick PRO Duo, 512 MB. Maybe this kind of memory card does not work with the emulator? Other homebrews (NesterJ) work fine with it though.

No, that has nothing to do with it, try using a different converter with your ISO.

does the game changer program have to be in a certain place? Because when I open it, it says "Component 'COMDLG32.OCX' or one of its dependencies not correctly registered: a file is missing or invalid."

I think I still did something wrong cause it won't load. It's because my saved game of ffvii was made on a different ffvii eboot. Maybe you can tell me what I'm doing wrong. I opened the eboot of fvii with the game id changer you gave me. The savedata folder of fvii is SCUS94476 so what I did was put that in as the Game Title and Game ID to keep it simple. But maybe you can't do that.

Something is still wrong. It successfully patches the eboot but it still won't run because the savedata. I put the gameID to SCUS94476 and the game title as FFVII.

Used PSX2PSP, Clean PopStation and Prometeus (Mac utility). None of the EBOOT.PBP worked. I will probably give up playing anything until I get a new memory stick, capable of holding a full CD. What are you guys using to rip the CD? I'm using ISOBuster, but are there other (free) alternatives?

*Need help*
Okay I made a ISO with Nero Burning ROM. I used the psx2psp to convert the ISO to EBOOT.PBP and KEYS, and then copied them to GAME. Picture:

Problem: When I go to the psp and run that game it says Hot shot golf or whatever that is (supposed to say that right?) and I start it and the screen just goes black basically, and then I just quit out of it and now I'm here :(
/don't know much about this.
