The guide tells you how to use the new feature of 3.71(M33), the new customizing theme stuff. If you want to manually flash it(for gameboots, clicksounds, etc) then please be careful and backup your NAND by using either the Pandora's Battery or the Universal Unbricker V3.

if you have a original fat psp, go HERE and download the files.

if you have a psp slim, then you need the universal unbricker to get back to 3.71 m33
Your link above takes me to a page which shows the files for the "RECOVERY folders are for 3.71 M33/M33-2 These RECOVERY folders are for 3.71 M33/M33-2". Will these same files work for the 3.71 M33-4? or will those probably be added later?

Also, I haven't bricked mine yet and I read kikzm33z post on "How to Place Theme onto 3.71M33 without "Bricking" your PSP" where it mentioned how to back up your flash 0. I couldn't get to my flash 0 to back it up. I changed my XMB Usb device to flash 0 but my desktop still doesn't show my the flash 0 it just shows my mem stick. Can someone do a step by step to get me to the point where I can copy my flash?

Didn't you read? No backing up flash0 in 3.71M33 using the USB Device. You need to go into Recovery mode and enable flash0 in Advanced->flash0.

Yes I did, more than once.

I wanted to enable USB because the PC needs that to communicate with the PSP, is this not the way to backup the flash? If not, then bear with me and tell me what I'm missing. I was under the impression that we enable USB then copy the files to our PC.

This is the answer I was looking for, thanks. In the thread I referred to it neglected to say go to advanced then enable flash 0, it only stated enable flash0 via Recovery Menu.

Yes I'm a noob. Before posting my question I spent nearly an hour on afterdawn looking for my answer. I guess I could have just gone into recovery mode and started changing all the options I could until I hit on my answer, but I found that is a good way of messing things up real good. I, and probably many noobs, don't want to be spoonfed, but perhaps that line I referred to could be changed to read The correct way to backup 3.71 M33/M33-2/M33-3 files is by enabling flash0 via Recovery Menu by selecting advanced and then selecting flash0(Don't flash your XMB via VSH menu or you will semi-brick).

You either need a new battery or to resolder the pin to use it as a normal one again
