starview super keeps rebooting

Assumptions aside have you not even contemplated sending it back? BTW I know of everyone's continuous problems with this box believe me, so lets say you get a new box and it continues to reboot the same way with the latest firmware, then you may deduct that it is firmware related.

I've recently bought The Box Super, and I'm getting the same rebooting problem posted previously on this thread. On looking at System Information, it says:

I'm considering trying to change the firmware, but I'm not keen to get myself a brick. I've got GTROM V4 on my laptop anyway, I'm going to download 6.1 and see what happens. Wish me luck!!

 

You dont need GT ROm , the 6.1 has a built in loader

 

no steo havent got one have the other 2 versions with no problems but have setup a few supers for people and they say the same thing keeps rebooting but if it was my box i would not think twice about flinging it back where it came from

 

I would but I know if I did a fix would be released 2 minutes later.

My starview 3 had a horrible horrible day. altogether so far it rebooted about 5 times. first it wouldn't do anything with the remote and i was waiting for it to reboot but then the remote started working again. then at 5 hours ago reboot. 30 seconds later reboot 30 seconds later reboot and 30 seconds later reboot again and each time the remote stopped responding and at that stage the signal was bad and glitchy. just 5 minutes ago it happened again after i fixed the pipe 2 hours ago so i just turned off my tv and am not thinking of looking at the thing until a fix is released. It's a complete pain in the a*se.

 

Please send your box back....then i can get the fix for the dozen or so boxes that are bustin' my balls!

 

lol. It rebooted 5 times yesterday.

 

i know in a previous post i said i'd send my box back. it didn't seem like the seller wanted that and now gt rom 8.00 is out. does this actually stop it rebooting?

 

It should and fix some scanning issues

 

the channel category sort still mixes up sometimes but i only use all channels anyway and i noticed the scan was better and faster.

Dont know Des, i still have the SV1 (still does the job)
But Doobys tested it & given it the ok.
