Not that I know of. Considering there really is only one custom firmware, that being Dark Alex's M33, we really don't have any tutorials. Unless of cource he did a tutorial.

the problem is the fact that it takes ages to write cfw and it must ages to fine the exploits. if there was a tutorial on how to make it there would only be few cfw still because it will be so hard to understand.

We should be grateful that dark alex is making this custom firmware because if you try to write it yourself and do something wrong then 'BANG!' your psp is now useless.
Just to tell you guys, I'm only 12 and I can do this stuff.

Yep, Team Wildcard and HellDashX, other than that i don't think there are any (Do Booster or HarleyG count?), and they just modified DaX releases.
My PSP life: (1.00) > 1.50 > 3.71 M33-4 w/ 1.50 kernel v2 > 3.90 M33-2 w/1.50 kernel v2 and fatmsmod v2 - PS3 2.10

Well if Booster or HarleyG don't count because they just modify DAX code than Helldash shouldn't count either cause thats all he did. lol

Nooo, you misunderstood me; Team WildCard and HellDashX only modified DaX releases. Booster and HarleyG created their own programs from scratch, though you couldn't really call them proper custom firmwares, Booster made the famous DevHook program before anyone had invented custom firmware, and HarleyG was the person to invent the recovery mode, and used it in conjunction with 1.50, which was sort of considered the first custom firmware...

I'm also wonderin' how to create custom firmware for the PSP. I don't have my own but I love to soup anything and everything up that I can. I'm only 15 but have been teachin' myself some stuff and my dad's a computer programmer so that helps. I've written the "Hello World" that everyone starts out with, written in c code. stopped after the "int age" assignment. I'm gonna start on C#, anyone have any suggestions as to what to do so I can start creating firmware.

Well, like I said before, I'm not veyr good at coding. But to me it seems the answer may be right in front of you. If your dad is a programmer hes probably the best person to ask. (if not the closest)

HTML isn't that bad f1nbar. It's cake walk compared to C+ :)
Check out w3c - they have some easy tutorials on the basics.

I'm not sure if this is sound advice but I think Java is a pretty easy language to learn. It's not that far off from C++ either so if you can learn it you'll have a great jump on other languages. Of course what you can actually do with Java is fairly limited.

yea I'm almost 14 and I have been trying to learn it for almost a month but nothings really working for me both c and c++ are difficult to learn
but I'm not sure you could be smarter than me you could be a great programmer or you could be like me and just good at technical stuff and fixing things... really learning C++ is one of the hardest things I have ever tried to learn
search google there are tons of tutorials and if you by any chance do learn c or c++ search for a download of "dev C++" it is a helpful tool for making your programs
