Please somebodey help me. I have a starview box which went down on Wednesday night. I have changing the codes but still it is not working. What else can i do for it to work. Please somebody help.

do a factory reset
then rescan for channels
then turn key emu on
go to ss1 let it update and fail
go in nagravision and enter ALL service provider keys both 00 & 01

I,ve the clone fix on begining on this thread and it does work,i installed using the gt loader and turned on emu and pressed 'set default key' came on straight away..

nobody is disputing if it works, cos it does but the debate is if it was written for the genuine it will brick you r box, maybe not today maybe not tomorrow but some day soon, unless you are competant at soldering, i would suggest taking it off whilst your box is running, one suggestion would be go back to 2.57, and if your desperarate for codes load it back on to get the code then take it back off.
i will post any news on the firmware that is on my box as soon as it happens, but it is freezing slightly which was one of the symptoms last time,
if you dont know how to jtag, i would recommend taking it off, but it your box and your choice

Cheer's for the advice,will turn off for now and risk it for the man utd v arsenal match,was gonna upgrade to box2 anyway but if it goes tits up will let you let know.

cheers dazzalam.i have just flashed with the old 2.57 fix and will wait for yourself,fergusrb,scouser etc to come up with a proper fix before i do it again

Hi there my starviw box(clone) went down on wednesday, when i install the channels its says updating and just stays blank. I have been in nagravision but I need ALL service provider keys both 00 & 01. Can soemone tell me where to get them from or someone tell me them. Thanks in advance

Check out the link at the bottom of my post, kept up to date as fast as they are available, you will need to know your current/correct ptovider.

do I only enter my own provider which is telewest or ntl and cable aswell

if you know which one to enter,you only need enter that 1, if your not sure out in all 3, or try them one at a time, then you will know for future

ONCE AGAIN - There is no new firmware update for the clone SV. This file on rapidshare is simply a renamed version of the CryptStar-v1.4 file that was released for the GENUINE SV. How do I know, just from a quick look over the 2 files in a hex editor, they are exactly the same. Also, take a look at the output from running a Linux command, diff, first against 2 obviously different files, the cryptstar bin and the gtrom loader, and then the cryptstar bin and the clone safeautoroll.bin .
The first one tells you that the files are different, the second gives no output because the files are the same;

user@hostname:~/sat_stuff> diff CryptStar-v1.4-Core400.bin GTRom_v4.00.exe
Files CryptStar-v1.4-Core400.bin and GTRom_v4.00.exe differ
user@hostname:~/sat_stuff> diff CryptStar-v1.4-Core400.bin clone\ safeautoroll.bin

YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED: Do not download any new firmware for clone SV until announced here by someone like scouser.
Don't believe me, don't use linux, download Windoze software and see for yourself.

Well that's your choice matey, but as eamo has said above there is no safe auto-roll firmware for clones that is guaranteed safe - your box could work fine for a while but it will die over a period of time, you have got to be aware that the cloned boxes will not cope with anything over the API v 2.60eE - hence the reason we had the API v 2.57 FIXED for clones.
And the fix that is out (Cryptstar 1.4) is a modded version of the original API ver: 4.00eE of June 2007 - check it on your system info.

Hi, ive got a clone box, everything adds up except the remote and it came with:
API ver:4.00e_E
Boot Ver:7.0
7th June 2007

I bought the box in Oct 2007 and has been running fine until this last week with the autoroll.

Ive been told to ask for my money back. They also said that they hoped i payed with paypal, which i did. But i dont really know how to go about getting my money back. I bought on ebay, any ideas?

Well if you have had it for 7 months then it may be worth your while to test out the so called clonesafe fix auto-update as we have discussed above, but It's a definate no no to the v4.50 - but it looks reasonable for the other, as it is the original v4.00 which you are running that has been modded, can't guarantee it though, puzzled as to why the clone has lasted so long with the 4.00 !
