Hello,
I just want to know if somebody has experienced something like this. I have an xbox 360 and I bought it on November 2007 and it's supposed to be one of those that don't suffer the red ring of death as much as the initial ones. Anyway today I was playing halo when all of the sudden I got a call on my cellphone which I left charging on the station dock next to my 360 and my tv. My tv started having this weird interference and then suddenly my 360 started to show 4 red lights and one second later it showed 3 flashing red lights and the tv went blank. So I got kinda scared cause I know about the RROD so I didn't know what to do except shutdown the xbox. I removed the iphone from that area and immediately turned on the xbox and it worked like if nothing happened. I have also had this problem when watching tv, if the iphone is near the directv cable cord, when I get a call the sound and image in the tv gets really scrambled up like if you were watching a scratched DVD to the point the image freezes up. So I think (and hoping) that when I got my call today the iphone made some kind of interference with the AV cable causing the 4 lights and then something else happened and they became the 3 lights of RROD. I know the iphone causes a lot of interference, but damn, if this thing caused the xbox to go crazy... it's just to much interference.
Well I just hope this was the cause of the temp RROD and not something else inside the xbox. After that, I left and my brother stayed playing halo and since then it hasn't showed any more "lights". So has anybody seen a case were interference causes the xbox to show the lights?

Has anyone figured out what error code 0101 means yet? I have a dead Premium system which gives that error code.

What you want to do is take off your GPU and CPU heatsink and remove any old thermal paste from the heatsinks and the chips and replace it with Artic Silver 5 paste, which is what you should have done when you replaced the x clamps. That should help as the stuff that m$ put on isn't too good.

My 360 went 4 times. I bought an Elite and that was the same. I got sick of sending it off to Microsoft so thought about fixing it myself. I thought it looked too risky so got a company to fix it ***link removed by loco*** It only cost £30 and its running sweet now.

basically all you can do is try the penny fix after/re-do thermal, and tighten screws/or the heat gun fix.

I was unlucky enough to get the RROD this weekend. I had error code 0102. I did the xclamp replacement and got it working today. I'll see how long it lasts.
