the only thing i can think of is another auto scan.
sometimes you have to do this a few times before the b0x picks up any channels after a factory reset.

    press ok to select english
    installation > ok
    choose provider
    autoscan
    press ok
    channels found
    exit

    menu > 1570
    turn EMU on
    exit exit exit

No joy so far. The only difference in plugging the cable into the basic cable box and The Box is a small connector, so just making sure that that is working ok, so going to get a spare from a friend and try that later this evening.

    Thanks again for the help.

Hello once again. Afraid that nothing has worked so far. Anyone with any options other than to throw out the receiver?

    Press Menu
    Press OK to select Installation
    Choose Provider
    Go down to Manual Scan
    Press OK

    You should now see

    Symbol rate

Hi sorry to be changing the subject slightly but when i try to download the genuine v1.4Core400.bin file from the GTRomv4.00 application with COM 1 to COM 1 on my laptop using a 9 pin null modem cable, after following instructions exactly i still get a 'flash update fail -retry, cancel' message every time... I know the box was flashed around this time last year, would this make any difference. Is my box just knackered now? I also tried to flash it with the older firmware with the same message 'flash update fail'
If someone knows of this fix i would really appreciate it..

    Thanks in advance

Tried that. Thanks again for the help but its not receiving any signal. I am beginning to suspect a power surge or something took out the receiver. Signal is fine in my normal cable box.

Celtic71, just wanted to let you know that the null cable i got from work today worked a treat and flashed perfectly! Result. Turns out the "null modem cable" i bought on ebay didn't even work or wasn't a null modem, thats why the flash update kept coming up.

Thanks for yer help! Roll on Thursday

Hi I know you are on MMDS by reading back did you try another provider like C***** instead of N** in case they have changed them over just like they did in parts of maynooth areas
