How do I make my DVD drive/burner region free?

I know there are a few area no cost firmwares for some Mac pushes but not all of them. I think there is some kind of hack into by using VLC that allows you to study the DVD without having to set the area, kind of VLC can study the DVD even if you have not selected the area, you just let the area choice display start and run VLC.

If I make copies with DVDFab it will remove the copy protection and also make them region free.They also sell region free DVD players.
