how cheap are you people??? Just buy one old ass game that you can play online and use that code to patch all of your games.....it ain't hard....how much would a copy of madden 2k4 cost since 2k5 is out? or go to wally world and get something even older for like $10.....stop being so cheap......$10 is nothing to pay to be able to play all games online....if I understand it right...the fact that the codes are not game specific...if I am wrong I apologize.

You don't even need to do that. Just use the code that was on your original disc that you are making a backup of. What you suggest would be piracy anyways.

PS2 - v8
Mod - Magic V
Burner - CenDyne (Pioneer) DVR-A05
Media - Anything Cheap

Gamecube w/Broadband Adapter
Phantasy Star Online
Animal Crossing Loader v1.4
Phantasy Star Uploader v1.1
Gamecube ISO Ripping Server v1.0.0.29

Yes duece you are right, however you should own the game so then you could get your own code from your game and patch your backup with that.

-Xbox v1.0, X-ecuter2 lite, EVO-X DASHBOARD,
-PS2 V4(gap), PS2 V5, duo2
-BARTON 3200+, wInDoWs XP(sp2),

To clarify what I said....

Yes: any game will work with any disc ID but that ID has to be from an original dvd/cd that was not given out to people.

I'm not supporting piracy i'm just telling you this so that its easier when making back ups to just use the same ID for ever game.

SO you can use 2 ps2s with the same ID and go online? I really want to play with my friend RE Outbreak at the same time while at my house. I got two ps2s and a backup (patched) + the original. I wont get banned if only 2 ppl are on will I? Just double checking.

hey guys... i'm having a very big problem. I just modded my ps2 with a magic3.1..... and in a hurry, without disabling my modchip i went online with an ORIGINAL game that i purchased. the dnas failed and i couldn't get on (i got an dnas880 error)

does this mean that i'm BANNED forever, because i tried to go back online after disabling the chip but it still failed. Do they have my ps2 banned? or is it just that game of mine?

thanks, any help will be appreciated

Kollision: No, you will not get banned. 2 IDs at the same time is fine.

nicka123: Sony says your PS2 sucks ;)
DNAS error:
-880 or -881 -PS2 hardware incompatibility.
Maybe you have a really old network adapter or something?

Invalid media, e.g. using CD-R and DVD-R discs against the production server, or using manufactured discs against the development server.
What are you playing the game off of? Did you patch a USA backup with a European DNAS code? You can only go USA - USA or Euro - Euro.

rhem: I'm not exactly sure, but I think part of the "patching" process takes out the modchip check. You'd have to ask the people that developed these hacks for specifics like that.

nicka: I don't know what to tell you. Try going online with a different game (different DNAS code) and see if you still get it. Also, The only known way to become "unbanned" if your Console ID has been banned (not the DNAS code) is to change the Console ID, which is burned into the BIOS of the PS2. There is a utility that exists to do this, but it is not publicly available as of yet.

I didn't patch it with any old dnas. I patched it with "Need For Speed Underground's" dnas from my region. I have a backup of NFSU also, which works fine online with it's own dnas from the original. I used the same media(DVD+r) as other backups that work fine online.

What did you use to get the DNAS ID off the NFSU backup?

The disc id utility from ps2nfo.com, believe me the dnas is a working dnas because I have a backup of NFSU that works fine online. Bottom line is that I can't use the dnas from NFSU for fight night 2004, it didn't work.

the Disc ID utility does NOT read IDs off backups afaik. It didn't work on my backups.. any of them. I'd recommend getting another code from a PRESSED cd and trying again.

If you would have read further up the forum you would have noticed I said I got the dnas from an "ORIGINAL" NFSU, then I made a backup of NFSU"which is patched" that works online fine. When I read this forum I tried using NFSU's dnas on a fight night 2004 backup, and it didn't work. The dnas is valid! I know what i'm doing as far as patching and such.

Ok, sorry. Misunderstood you. I'm not sure what's wrong then. I would try a different DNAS ID and see if it makes a difference.

Like I stated before for it to work. YOU NEED A DISC ID FROM A PRESSED ORIGINAL IN YOUR REGION OR OF THE REGION FOR THE GAME YOU HAVE. Its irrelevent if its for that game or not. Like I say i'm using all my backups with my Socom2 ID.

Clipmxorwhateveryournameis: to answer you no one has ever been banned because I've tried everything to get banned before I started screwing around with this. DNAS only bans the disc ID that your using if your in violation. i.e. All the warez images that people download and burn are banned because hundreds of people are loggin on with that disc ID.
Besides if they were banning consoles then they could never sell you another online game again. $ony is a lot smarter than that and still wants your money either way. The worst thing that they could possibly do is ban your IP but even then they run the off chance of banning a legitimate unpirated console/game.
