Hi everyone After replacing 3 DVDs over the course of a week (due to a little sister) I started backing up my dvds onto my computer which is connected to my TV and surround sound and thats how I now watch all my movies. Well my freind bought over 2 movies yesterday both of them on CDs one was 2:10:00 long and the other was 1:45:00 long and the quality was amazing and it still had at least 4 channel surround sound! He did not make them and has no idea how they were made but I must know as I am going to college now and dont have my old setup unless I am at home. I did even think it was possible but I am looking at the one that is 2 hours long right now and it is on a Maxell CD-R 80min 700MB!!!! Please let me know how to do this!
Use GordianKnot http://www.afterdawn.com/software/video_software/video_encoders/gordian_knot.cfm with the XviD MPEG4 codec http://www.afterdawn.com/software/video_software/codecs_and_filters/xvid_koepi_unstable.cfm to make 700MB stereo AVIs. If Dolby ProLogic-type surround is not enough for you, you could use the AC3 5.1 DVD audio directly (like DVDShrink does). However, all but the very shortest movies will then require 1400MB (2 CDRoms). The quality, even on 1 CD, is pretty amazing is it not? I have 165 films (and counting) on a 160GB SATA drive... It's getting full but still ~28GB free :^) Hope this helps, Regards
I didnt think they had MPEG4 yet. Thankyou I will get right on trying these and let you know if I get the same quality. Thanks again
