   .avi file. When I open it in Windows media player I get the picture w/ no sound. When I open it w/ Quicktime I get the sound w/ no picture.
   I have the k-lite codec pack. Any ideas?

   first thing you need to do is uninstall klite
   
   then install
   
   FFDSHOW - http://sourceforge.net/projects/ffdshow
   XVID - http://www.xvid.org/
   
   these should cure your problems
