This is a strange thing. If I set the NIC card that my xbox is connected to to 100BaseT Full_Duplex, Then I cant surf, And have to set it to 10BaseT Full_Duplex, But then transfer speeds are really slow. The NIC on the pc I am using is the 1 thats on the motherboard (No problems surfing or downloading with it) and the xbox card is a LinkSys. Would this be the reason I cannot set it? The pc nic is on Auto-Sense and the xbox nic is on 10baset-full duplex now. Should I get another LinkSys NIC card?
If you aren't using a router or a hub,and want to tunnel through your PC and use the internet connection....do this. PC INTERNET CONNECTION SETTINGS go into your control panel and find the connection that you use to connect to the internet. Right click it and select properties. Click the 'advanced' tab at the top of the window that popped up....and then check off the two white buttons in the 'internet connection sharing' section. Now click OK and exit this window. SECOND NIC SETTINGS Make sure this card is set to select an IP on it's own XBOX SETTINGS Make sure the IP is set to DHCP Now reboot both the PC and the xbox for the settings to take effect. If you look in your xbox dahboard,you should have a DHCP IP now. You should be online now,and able to use things like xlink Kia/xbconnect,and the online feature of the XBMC (switch this IP to DHCP as well). PS-use a crosswire cable to connect your xbox to your PC,cause if you have a hub or router....this whole tutorial is a waste of time. enjoy
